Anyone up for three events in a row?

Saturday July 30th - CASC-OR Autoslalom Regional Event # 6 hosted by TAC at the Brampton Centre

Sunday July 31st - SCCA-Detroit Region Firecracker SOLO II at the Visteon Plant in Ypsilanti Michigan

Monday August 1st - WOSCA Lapping event at Waterford Hills.

I've going and there are possibly 2 HADA guys joining in. Any other SOLO freaks interested? SPDA guys by any chance?

I've got a room booked at the Hampton Inn about 5 minutes from the Detroit SOLO II venue and can book additonal rooms for $100USD a night ($50 USD per person if you share). Let me know.

Oooo, I didn't know about the solo-2. Damn, too bad about the SCCA stock wheel thing.

Marsh: Agreed.. hence my hesistation. I'd like to go, but I want to be competitive. I'd get killed in the Civic (128hp)..

I dunno I have some 205's maybe I could mount them to some of my ITR wheels.

They have street tire classes as well...

Marsh
07-13-2005, 01:02 PM
HAH! My street tires are even more illegal than my race tires. The race rims are only off on the width, and even then only by 1". The street tires are off on width, offset, and diameter. The latter by 2 inches. Were there any 13 x 6" factory option rims for the DX in 92?

BTW Clarkston Motor-Inn is the closest motel to the track. Clean rooms and reasonable rates:

I'm staying closer to the SOLO II site since the starting time on Sunday is 1.5 hours earlier than on Monday.

I'm at hotel (http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=ARBVWHX).

Bingo... however, when we went to Batavia last year, I asked them what class i should be in because of this (root class being DS), and they said not to worry about it and let me compete in DS.

That's what I'm kinda hoping for, since I'm only on 6's. But I think Detroit is really sticky about rules.

For the Detroit event I attended I just ran in the Street TIre class, STX in my case, STS in yours I would assume.

Why not squeeze your 13" tires onto a set of OE wheels for the weekend?

My tire guy was upset about cramming them on to 6" wheels. I think he'll refuse to even try stuffing them onto 5" rims!

The more likely option is don't go. A triple header is not my idea of fun anyway. I'll be misserable by Monday.

It's a 10Mb file so don't expect immediate delivery but I can send it out to a few serious people.

You are correct Sir! I thought they used to charge a fee for it?

Anyway here is the RULE BOOK (http://www.scca.org/_filelibrary/File/2005SoloRules.pdf).

They must remember us from last year
maybe we should bring a set of street tires and run TSM...there are 13 people in that class.

either way, I look forward to running against the white beast once again.
