Tire coatings?

Has anyone tried Hot Lap or another similar product. Hot Lap is a product I have seen advertised, you coat your tires with this compound and it is supposed to increase traction. I assume it just softens the rubber up, so I thought it might work for tires that have hardened from to many heat cycles.

Has anyone tried it? Does it work?

My guess is that it does work, but for how long is the question?

Most likely does the same thing as coating your tires in gas........
