The last event in the Solo with a Twist series was run today. Before getting to the results, Ryan and I need to thank a few people.
First to all the members of SPDA who came out and helped, who picked up cones, put up and took down tents, cleaned up, designed courses, ran to the store for something we forgot.....thanks
Second to the competitors that came out in support of our efforts to go to targa....Thanks
Third, a special thanks to Jason Drummond, not an SPDA member, but he pitched in and ran timing for us the first 2 events and was one of the first people on the lot both times. ( I hope your trip continues well Jason)
With everything going on this weekend I forgot the series standings at home and was unable to officially announce the winner at the event. I thought it might have been Ed Franks, Ed thought it was Trung Do, Trung thought it was Ed........................................................................
Congratulations to our first Targa with a Twist winner..........................
TRUNG DO 293.95977
second
Ed Franks 292.65523
third
Mike Aversa 288.82
Trung will recieve $250 and a nice trophy for his win

GREAT, now I have to get this champagne cork back in the bottle!!
Tony and the SPDA set up great tracks and ran a very interesting series.
I enjoyed the Targa format which rewarded clean consistant runs (I guess 1 cone in 18 runs was 1 cone too many! )
Thanks guys
Hope you do it again next year.
Congrats to Trung!

OMG...can't believe it!
Thanks Tony, Ryan and the rest of the SPDA gang! Thanks Ed, and especially Rob for NOT showing up today :D ;)
It was a great day! The Fryers and the Dos had a battle going on today and the Fryers both came out on top! Good job Daniel for beating me and beating up on the the STi today and good job Lisa for handing Anna back to back loses in two days of competition amongst girls( she's already planning her revenge on the girl from the States)
Thanks again Tony and Ryan we'll see everyone at PMG!
The unofficial results are up.
Final results (http://spda-online.ca/modules/results2/rewrite/tc_14.html)
The run times are here (http://spda-online.ca/modules/results2/rewrite/tc_13.html)
If you attended all 3 events and don't see your name in the finals let me know.
That was a blast and wish we could use some of the rules like counting all runs..
Good luck Tony at the real Targa!

We missed you out there Robbie! Like Trung said, hope everything is okay..
Great weather, awesome course design (thanks to Luca), and the use of an STi for the day (HUGE thanks to Trung) , how can you go wrong! :D  Seemed like everyone really enjoyed themselves.
Trung, I can't help but think you either had an off day, or you were going easy on me.. ;) Either way, I had a blast driving the mighty STi, and I'm very jealous. I'll find a way to have one of those in my driveway one of these days!!!
Well done to the whole SPDA crew for an excellent series... Just wish I could have made it out to all the events.
Can't wait till next year when I'm sure it will only be bigger and better.

I loved the course design, at least behind the wheel of an STI all day.
Thanks Kyle for letting me co-drive your STI, it's an awesome car that is easy and forgiving to drive (at least I thought so).
After driving an Insight all summer, this was my first auto-x behind the wheel of an STI in over 4 months. While re-learning the STI on the very first run I got 56.949 which put me at 3rd fastest after run 1 :D
Kyle and I had a very exciting battle where I was beating him driving his car on the first 3 runs. But I think he was just toying with me because after run 4 he started to school me :o
That's when I started over driving and hitting cones trying to catch him.
My last run was my best and it was clean with a time of 55.044 seconds.
In the end Kyle beat me by 0.8 seconds.
I've co-driven other people's cars about 5 times over the last 2 years and Kyle is the first person to beat me, way to go Kyle!
The 255 wide Victoracer tires were sticky but I could feel they are not 710s...
I really want to buy an STI eventually...
