SATURDAY
1. competitor #2 on course can have a major mechanical issue with his car and still make it to run 2

2. competitor 85 can have a major issue with his car and it can be boxed, sealed and wrapped with a pretty bow in about 90 seconds

3. remember to secure your cooler when transporting said competitor (85) to the repair facility

4. you can arrive late to your last run and with permission run your last run (cause you are a nice guy and helped box said cometitor 85 and transport him to the nearest repair facility) and still kick ass in your class

5. driving to detorit on the 401 and thinking everything is fine ( it isn't)

6. blowout on the trailer at 120 kph makes for an instantaneous wake up call
the tire literally shred itself

7. while calling for tire repair shops i unloaded the car and other goodies from the trailer, jacked it up, removed blown tire, jack stand under it

8. picking up 2 new wheels for trailer the week before and NOT getting tires mounted makes you wonder why the hell you didn't

9. trailer repair guy shows up
sees trailer jacked, jack stand under it
wheel off
says

you guys look like you know what you are doing
the tires in the back of the truck.......

10 watching said trailer repair guy change the tires manually.....unbelieveable

11, getting the bill and realizing they charged you half price for the tire makes you think....should I have ordered 4?????

12 gettting to the border at 1100 with no paperwork and getting the drive by at customs is awesome :D

13. driving up i96 to i94 west (1 mile) and finding out that michigan has closed exits for some 20 miles makes for some heated conversation in the truck

14 arriving at hotel at midnight and finding they haven't given up your rooom :D

SUNDAY

15 Bob Evans doesn't open till 700 am

16 drive to registration...arrive at 655... at least 40 competitors out there ( TAKE NOTE REGIONAL COMPETITORS)

17 when they say first car on course at 9:00am they mean it

18 andrew"s VW is damn near as fast as a shifter cart

19 we all did well based on times and the level of competition

20 SCCA decides course approval on whether a mobile home pulling a 20 ft trailer can navigate the course.....We witnessed this event and were in awe that this rig did the entire course and only tagged 1 cone.... think about that
(kidding that they design this way but this guy did do it during fun runs)

21 the border guard at Windsor was cute ..... and also never asked for any papers :D

22 Vals mom makes a damn good home cooked meal

23 no sleep again sat night

MONDAY

24 damn wakeup call at 400

25 on the road

26 coffee.. need more coffee :o

27 SPDA crew out in full force to desing course

28 another great day, 6 runs , done by 220, 45 minute lunch, everyone enjoyed themselves

29 I think the course design to day challenged everyone... it was fast technical and challenging...congrats to Daniel Fryer for FTD

30 i am exhausted, too old for this shit... but i think in a way it probably a good thing......its good prep for targa

31 time for my bed.......

gdnight folks

Saturday:

1) V710’s are very resilient. 7 events with two drivers and they still stick enough to put a Civic up on two wheels!
2) Stephen is back!
3) The HADA cones do not like Brian’s courses :D
4) Seeing two Mini’s on course is cool. The Insight’s weren’t the smallest vehicles there!
5) Making these lists is a lot harder than I thought.
6) Ditto the american roads dealio from Tony's post. They could be awesome if they were open and properly maintained. I'll never complain about the 401 again (at least not this month :) ).

Sunday:

1) The American’s do up auto-x like we do… uh… actually we can’t do it up like them. Leave it to the Yanks to commercialize their weekend hobbies!
2) Hearing funk music while changing tires in the morning is cool
3) Doing 8 runs back to back within 75 minutes split between two driver’s means the car never gets a chance to cool down. The V710’s didn’t like that.
4) I got schooled – big time! Congrat’s MikeA!
5) Working the 1st heat, having an entire heat to prepare the car for competition, running the 3rd heat, then having another heat to pack it up and still managing to make it into the Hotel pool by 4:15 is awesome! We’ll have to somehow adopt this system in Canada.

Monday:

1) Business as usual for the Americans means my friend Andrew can get his exhaust fixed in time to do lapping!
2) I like Waterford hills a lot!
3) WOSCA organizes really nice events. Thanks Marshall and crew for a well run event with unlimited track time and a very safe and fun environment.
4) Business as usual for the Americans means hitting rush-hour traffic for an hour on the way home.

Oh yeah - and drawing a border patrol guard with an atitude on the way home was not cool. What a condescending little prick. Argh!

Oh is that it? I was attributing it to a lack of sleep or something along those lines. Can you teach me to be that fast? I wouldn't mind extra time on my weekends ;)

1. My tires are gone.
2. I now know what, "something bounced up into my undercarriage" means, when that very thing happened on the way back home on Monday.
3. Watching Mike being forced to use two hands with a manual steering car is funny.
4. I'll miss my little colourful toy.

Saturday
1. Its all about the Cone Voodoo (http://www.instantvoodoo.com)
2. Learning the timing system isnt as hard as first thought
3. Slow in, Fast out (now repeat).
4. New V710's are way stickier then the old ones you got for free to start the year.
5. Well put together event, Brian great job with organizing your first event.(Remember to ask for help next time, it make things easier)
6. 2 Hours of waiting isnt so bad when you know that your gonna be able to compete in your first cross border event.
7. Tony K really really hates bad drivers.
8. I94, I96, I275.. complete sections of Intersate Highways closed makes you wonder what they are thinking.

Sunday

1. There are alot of ultra serious cars/competitors in the US.
2. Mc Donalds in the US are finished like 5 star restaurants but the food is still 1 star just like here.
3. 90+ Classes (shhh but I think they are nuts)
4. Most people down there compete in street tire class. One of the guys I was marshalling with thought it was nuts that most series registered competitors up here have R's
5. Prizes are cool no matter how small.
6. Being schooled by a woman isnt so bad. Way to go Ashely. Daniel I understand your pain. lol
7. Woohoo I won my class. (I was the only one entered, see point 3)
8. Val and Tony make great hosts

Monday
1. Having to get up at 4 am to be at the event 7 am is killer. I dont know how Tony does it.
2. I have never see a course design prepared by Luca, it worked great and was fast.
3. Messing around with a competitive competitors time by adding cones before they enter the stop box and watching their reaction at the time can be funny (I know its wrong and I obviously change it back, but damn it was funny) Don your    faces made us all laugh.
4. My car needs some TLC, PMG here we come.
5. Val better leave Tony alone ;) when he is competing at Targa, he needs his beauty sleep to go fast.

Tuesday

1. I feel like I have jet lag after 1200+ KM of travel, and 3 races. :)
2. I want to paint my car World Rally Blue and reupholster the interior Cordeiro Scirocco Green.
3. Time for bed.

I want to thank Tony for the great hospitality and letting me co-drive his car on Sunday. Now if only I could have tamed the beast that he calls a car.
