Greetings, fellow Solo1 competitiors.
Well, as it turns out, yours truly shall be the organizer for this Sunday's Mosport Grand Prix Challenge (AKA Event #5 of the Mobil1 Solo 1 series, sponsored by Agincourt Autohaus).
For those who don't know me, my name is Avi and I [try to] compete in this year's GT1 class. If anyone needs to find me over the course of the weekend, I'll be the scruffy looking fellow with the white Subaru STi (car #277).
Please find below a copy of the schedule and supplimentary regulations for both Saturday's school and Sunday's timed event. I suggest you take a moment to peruse them, along with the usual series regs if you need a refresher, and prepare to arrive at the track with a healthy dose of respect for the magnificent, yet potentially menacing, circuit on which you will be lapping!
I look forward to seeing you all at the track this weekend.
Regards,
Avi Koifman, #277, GT1

Supplemental Regulations
Event Organization
The weekend is jointly organized by the Toronto Autosport Club and the Oshawa Motorsport Club. Robert McAuley is the organizer for the Saturday school, and Avi Koifman is the organizer for the Sunday championship event.
Schedule
Saturday, registration opens at 7am. Driver’s meeting (including instructors) at 8am. Instructor’s meeting at 8:30. First cars on the track at 9am.
Sunday, there will be separate Driver’s meetings at 8:00. Cars are to report to the grid at 8:30, and the first car is on the track at 9am.
Passing
Passing is permitted during the open lapping sessions. It is not allowed during the timed runs.
The faster car may only pass the slower car when they receive a signal to do so. The slower car will stay on line, or move to the left. The slower car may be faster on the straight, where the pass is being attempted. The faster car will move off-line to the right. Please ensure that you, as the slower car, lift off the throttle, and let the faster car pass safely before the braking zone. All passing must be complete by the end of the braking zone. No cars are to be side-by-side in the corners.
The slower car will use their turn signal to indicate the side they want the faster car to pass on. That is, the slower car will turn on their right turn signal to indicate that they are ready for the faster car to pass on the right. Cars without turn signals can use hand signals, by pointing up and over the roof of the car towards the right side. Cars with window nets, or with windows that cannot be opened can point inside the car.
Any car seen passing without a signal, tailgating while waiting for a signal, or otherwise driving aggressively will be brought into pit lane to discuss their driving with the Chief Instructor.
Passing is only permitted on the front straight, between turns 3 and 4, and on the back straight.
Riding with Instructors
All students shall be accompanied by an instructor until signed off. Instructors signing off students will place a sign-off sticker on the car’s windshield.
Instructors will drive B and C group cars for the first 3 laps in their first session to show them the line.
Passengers
Only instructors and signed-off students may carry passengers. No person 14 years of age and under may ride in a car during timed laps. Passengers during non-timed laps must be at least 9 years old. The driver must be signed off, and the passenger must wear a helmet that correctly fits.
Single Seat Cars
Cars with no provision for a second seat are only allowed on the track when an instructor is monitoring them. Instructors may monitor from another car on the track, or from the pit area.
Timed Laps
Laps owed due to yellow flags (a faster car catches a slower car) will be awarded at the discretion of the clerk.
While we expect all students and instructors to get 3 sets of timed laps (9 timed laps), we may run out of time. Owed laps may be lost.
Lost or Shortened Sessions
Sessions lost due to an on-track incident may not be made up. The schedule as published will be followed.
Saturday Dinner
Dinner is provided for all students, instructors, and staff on Saturday evening. Anyone wishing to bring additional friends and family may do so at a cost of $10 per person. Dinner tickets may be purchased at registration, from the classroom instructor, the Chief Marshall, or the organizers.
