Hey guys,

Just one week left until the S1 season starts! Which brings up the issue of how to be totally prepared for a race weekend. I have already replaced a ton of stuff on the GT that I've discovered needing attention in the past few months since I bought Kirk's car. Mechanically, it should be good to go now.

I've got fresh fluid in the tranny and the rear-end, and I'm dumping the oil this week, changing the brake fluid, and flushing the rad (should I go to straight water?). I'm also having the alignment checked.

I have about 2mm of tread depth at most, in some places considerably less. Hopefully the A032Rs will survive the weekend.

I'm also going to go out and buy a tent to hide from the sun under for the weekend.

I've found a trailer (borrowing), and I'm going to go buy a hitch, get the trailer brake module installed, and find some tie-down straps. Oh, and drop the oil in the truck.

Soooooo... anything else I've forgotten? :)

I can't wait!

Here's a list of things that you might want to consider bringing to the track with you.

-spare set of rotors
-extra brake fluid
-brake bleeding hose/kit
-quart of oil to top up as required
-jug of premixed coolant
-torque wrench
-jack
-jack stand(s)
-hose clamps (good for more than just hoses)
-racer tape (ie, duct tape)
-basic socket set
-basic screw driver set
-tire pressure gauge
-air pump
-jug of fuel
-shop towels
-handi-wipes
-glass cleaner
-work gloves
-tarp to cover stuff in case it rains
-extra clothing (dressing in layers is must especially early in the season when the weather is so iffy)
-umbrella
-water
-food: sandwiches, fruit, granola bars, etc.
-hat
-sunblock
-rule book

One good thing is that there is a Canadian Tire close to all of the tracks that we compete at so if you ever in dire need of something it can usually be had fairly easily.

Thanks. I keep finding more things to do all the time. :)
