I have seen some cars in the Group+70 and other classes running with stock or factory fuel tanks.
And the rule says.
"Full Cells are required for all Cars unless specified by Class, Series or Supplementary Regulations"
My question is does my car have to have a fuel cell ?
It is a 1986 Omni GLH
Thanks Steve

For Non VARAC and NON G70+ Read Race Regulations Appendix M.
Specifically Section 2.2. G70+ rules currently require a celll in all their cars. Check with VARAC to see if any revisions to this are being considered. EG make G70+ same as regular CASC.

From a safety point of view why would you want to race without one?

Hi Steve,

VARAC G70+ allows the CASC-OR regulations regarding fuel cells to be considered as supplemental regulations. (Appendix M of the Ontario Region Race Regulations). Note as well that CASC-OR's regulations regarding roll cages (Appendix O) are enforced for G70+ (G70+ rules plan to be updated officially at the VARAC AGM this year).

If you'd like more info regarding rules etc. (as well as the monthly G70+ e-newsletter - we keep everyone updated on the racing events, the club, etc.) feel free to email me offline at LDDALE@hotmail.com

Thanks!
Diane Dale.
