Now, I know the rulebook says modified shifter = super stock.
Does that only cover short-throw shift kits and the like?
What about if I changed my shifter bushings from the stock rubber to stiffer urethane ones? Is that allowed in stock class?

A short shifter is allowed in stock class, see 5.10.2 in the rule book, but the bushings and any mods below the pivot point is 1 point.

A shorter shifter is not a performance enhancer but modifing the pivot point and linkages is.

5.10 GENERAL MODIFICATION - STOCK CATEGORY
.2 The sunvisors, steering wheel, floor pedals, shifter knob and lever may be modified.

Where is the part that disallows modification of the pivot point and bushings .. isn't that included since it is the "lever"?

Is it 5.15.3: "The transmission shift linkage may be modified" for super-stock?

Or do bushings fall under 5.11.12.
(... may be replaced, provided they serve no other function than to fasten items, as per 'OE')

Bushings are "linkage"

lever is what the bushings go into.

I think if you purchased a new shift lever and it came with replacement bushings, fine. But replace a bushing seperately; no.

Anyone disagree? (other than the guy that wants to do it, obviously!)

Yep, what Marshall said about sums it up!
