Browsing the princess auto catalog, seem they have a sale starting Monday where the Costco/Harbour Freight aluminum jack that everyone and there mother either has or wants is onsale. $99. Sale starts Tuesday.

Everyone asks where you can get these, well now is your chance.

Hey Paul,

Does it go as low as 3 1/2"?

What is the capacity?

Not sure, from the looks of the picture it looks like a rebranded version of what Costco was selling but as mentioned it might be smaller, can't judge from the picture. This is what they have it at:

1-1/2 TON
ALUMINUM FLOOR JACK
• Lift range: 3-1/2" - 14-3/4"
• 8-9 strokes to full height under no load
Wt. 27.5 lbs.

it looks to me to be the same jack that finboy was getting from costco, as they were pretty small...

Yes, the lowest it goes is 3 1/2". And they were on sale starting almost two weeks ago. When I was there last Monday they had maybe 30 left?

I went there on Sunday to look at it, and it is nothing like the Costco one i bought a year and half ago. Much smaller and flimsy looking, I passed on it and will wait for costco to get their version again.

I haven't broken the one I got at Canadian Tire. Look for it one sale at $150.00. Also reasonable return policy.

Well, I can't confirm or deny the flimsiness of it, but I did take some pics of the two side by side to compare, and weighed them as well. The pics are here (http://www.redpepperracing.com/gallery/v/oldskulrex/jack_comparo/) , but the differences are:

- definitely smaller, probably about 2/3 as big as the Torin
- doesn't have the spring loaded part that supposedly helps to start
- weights: 37lb4oz (Torin) vs 24lb12oz (PA)
- max height is about 2 inches shorter

It lifts my teg just as well as the Torin, and it's smaller and lighter, so it will make an even better track jack than the Torin, so I'm glad I got it, but I'm also glad I have the Torin.

Nice. I think you're right this would make a nice track-side jack. I've always found the Torin a little large, nice in the Garage but not exactly small.

Actually quite amazing on how similar these two jacks are, both have a drum front roller rather than casters, both have the same style of handles etc etc. I wouldn't be surprised if they were made by the same company.
