hey there everyone, I figured that you would be the best to ask. I want to give solo 2 a try, but my dailr driver is a Saturn SL-1. I was wondering how the class structure works and what other cars I would be up against, I just want to try it and see how I can do. The car is the 1.9L standard motor, with 85,000KM on it and it has no A/C at all(if it makes a dif).

I think it's in H-stock if that is a L series Saturn.... (4 cylinder) provided you have no modificatiosn to it.

It really depends on if you are going to compete in Club Series or the Regional Series.

Since you are starting out, your best bet is to run a few Club Events. They are usually more laid back, and the classing/rules are a lot less stingent.

At first, don't worry about who you're competing against, just work on beating your own times.

I don't know much about the Saturns, but I ran a 4-door Honda Accord for 3 years, so I'm sure your car will be no problem at all.

Stay tuned to the forum for announcements from the various clubs for their 2006 dates. And if you have any questions, this is the place to ask :)

Saturn 8V motors (which I believe your base 1.9L is) would be in H-stock along with base Civics, Protege's, Mini's and the like. H-stock is the lowest stock class.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I cant wait to get her out there and give her a try, I know shes only a saturn but she seems gutsy at times. I just wanna get some decent tires before i try it, I'm already putting in the top notch fluids to keep her running good. I plan on running the PMSC solo 2 that they put on, I know the area and its not that far.

I already had planned on attending the meeting, I have the registration form already downloaded and I'll be joining that day. I am also doing the ice racing this winter, as well as some Nav-ex's with my sturn if I can find some. But I want to get the full experience that autosports has to offer.
