My five-year-old has taken to Gran Turismo 4, and he's tried my old "Steer-n-win" steering wheel. Seeing him use it reminds me why I stopped and went back to the hand-held controllers -- they're way more usable!

Surely, in the four years since I got that wheel, they've gotten better. I'm interested in your feedback on any PS2-compatible steering wheels you've tried.

Just in time for Christmas, of course. Thanks in advance.

i have bought and returned the logitec pro, with 900 degree feedback feature.

its the best out of all the PS2 wheels i have tried, but still crap compared to the real thing

or even a good arcade game wheel.

the fact that aside from GT4 i dont know any other games that use 900 degrees.

even in GT4 the 900 degree option is useless, as as soon as you go into a lock and try to save yourself, how hsould i put this... things get very weird and UNNATURAL, and you only end up being frustrated.

my 2 cents.

I've got the logtec pro, 900 degree, and it beats the hell out of the hand controller. With the hand controller, you go lock/lock very easily, the 900 Deg gives you the fine control you need.

You need something strong to mount it to -- the foces feedback is strong at times (well, the way I drive it is), and I would be a bit worried about it being too strong for a 5 year old. I have mine on a TV table, and if I don't brace the table with my leg the force will tip the table.

Paddle shifters are good, the stick shift I don't use.

As for realism, I dont' race fro real so I don't know. Felt pretty near a go-kart tho, and you can feel understeer coming on.

If you are ever near Acton, come try it out before you spend $200!

I a Logitech Momo. I like it overall, the GT4 wheel has smoother steering with 900 but goign lock to lock is difficult. I love the paddle shifters on the Momo.

If you want to play GT4 do NOT get the Momo. It is, for reasons beyond my comprehension, hard coded out of the game by Sony. It will work with a PS2 but not with GT4. Sony has discouraged me from buying a PS2 through this move. It's ok, F1 Challenge and it's mods are more realistic anyway.
