keith and i , want to know how one of these can be made? and what it can be made from? maybe some sort of low cost industrial in line regulator?

both of us are losing lots of oil in our turbos from very high pressure oil blow thru, and we need a way to lower the oil pressure the tutbo sees

any ideas?

I deal in pneumatics, but I have a line on hydrolic inline regulators.

I'll get pricing.

My only concern would be the regulator frothing the oil and deeming the oil useless. I'll look into that too.

i have a friend who can get swagelok parts cheap..he is getting me a precision needle valve, with "t" handle adjuster...i will see how that goes.....and if it works, i will tell keith about it as well..will just use a cheap crappy tire oil pressure gauge behind it

Maybe you just need to limit the size of the oil line to the turbo.

Are you burning oil? How are you sure its the turbo and not your engine?

i looked at my plugs..engine is not burning enough oil for the plugs to be so clean (plus it was just rebuilt in the winter) ..and it only happens under high revs...which has the highest oil pressure load on the turbo..and per corky bell "maximum boost" book, turbo oil seals only like to see 15-25psi of oil max....at high revs i have 60psi of oil pressure hitting the turbo....i am running a 3an line..so it is very small already...and i know the head is not leaking oil thru the valves cause the valve cover breather tank is clean and not full of anything..

so i figure it is the turbo leaking the oil..cause its got to be going somewhere..i went thru 1 1/2 to 2 litres of oil during the 2 solo 1 events...

Reducing the line diameter does not reduce oil pressure, just the oil volume.

Run a regulator with a larger diameter line.

just to be safe i will do a leak down test as well..maybe the guy who put the rings in the motor goofed up?

Adam, if you need a leak down tester or air tank then you are more then welcome to stop by my place and give it a try.

thanks for the offer chris..i have all the equipment to do it at home as well, but no time..i will just let the mechanic do it for me, and just give me a report on it..
