DARN...I shouldn't of stopped at $50.000!!!!!!
California business analyst Tom Naito, a race fan of long standing, dug deep in his pockets at the recent eBay auction of a drive in the April 8 Toyota Celebrity Race, part of the Long Beach GP weekend activities. Waiting until the closing minutes of the auction, Naito posted the winning bid of $50,350 for the drive! The 34-year-old Naito, born in Japan and reared in Hawaii, prefers Formula One and Champ Car races. He’s now “attending driving school” at Willow Springs Raceway in California’s high desert in preparation for taking the green flag in the famous Toyota Celebrity race at Long Beach, where he will share the course with the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jay Leno and a host of NBA players. Naito’s 50 grand will go to the Grand Prix Foundation of Long Beach, which, over the years, has provided Southern California charities with close to $2 million.
