So Autoslalom party weekends... you know those weekends where you do a test and tune on Friday .. compete on Saturday and sunday.. have the best of each day added together and get a trophy if you win ... combined ussually with a dinner saturday night or a large bonfire or both... sounds kind of like the nationals for anyone who has gone to them. but these party weekends are ussually not the nationals such examples of these weekends include The Slalom at Slemon or The Super Slalom in Saskatoon (say that last one 5 times fast)
So why hasn't an ontario club ever decided to put on an autoslalom weekend? I know SPDA has the nationals this year but that is different since the nationals roves around. Slalom at Slemon has been there for 11 years (I think, thats what I heard when I was there)
to me it seems like clubs in ontario are missing out on an opportunity to create an event that would attract people from all over. Slalom at Slemon gets people from all over the maritimes and the North eastern USA.
just curious what others think on this topic
