Hi, I'm looking to see what people do to get fuel to and from the event safely and legally. Here's what I have planned. We have a car we run in Targa Newfoundland and are looking to do some more performance rallies. We use a 20' open trailer to haul it and I was thinking of mounting some permanent transfer tanks to the trailer (like you would put in the back of a pickup truck). We'd then use either a 12v pump or a drum pump to get the fuel into the car. Seems safer and cleaner that jerry cans. As near as I can tell, personal use is exempt from the dangerous goods transportation act in Canada.

What do other people do? Drums, 5 gallon jugs etc. My 'Service crew" will usually be either my father or my wife, so I'd like to keep things as easy as possible. Not having to move or tie down fuel containers seems the way to go.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Gord

you won't be able to do that...... cause in the cdn pro rallies, you can't fuel your car in the service area. CDN rallies designate fuelling areas... which is near service area/control zone.... that's one of my jobs at the events.

We always use the 25L cans to fill the evo.... but we transport the fuel in the vp drum (205L) and transfer into the 25L jerry cans at the event.

For transporting the fuel, you'll need a certification.... Some of our teamates received their certification a few years ago. One of the other teams was fined by MTO for transporting "dangerous goods"....

You might want to confirm this with others.... but there might be a way around it..... I think the problem was the fuel drums (205L) vs using 25L jerry cans..... you might be able to get around that with the jerry cans.
