Take the serial number to GM. They should be able to at least give you the starting point dealer and first owner. That might get you a series number.

Is that the number CSC (the cage builders) stamped on the cage? I don't recall
CASC numbering cages.

I know in the late 70's, SCCA stamped roll cages. Could that be the number?

Ask Steve Scala at the CASC office if he has records from when CASC put numbers on cages. I "assume" the number is on a metallic foil "sticker"

Yes it is a Foil sticker on the Cage. Ooo..that long ago eh?

Well it is almost a historic racer.

00044 doesn't look like one of our numbers. Would've been 3-044 if it was, I'm sure. In any case, my logbook records go from 3-033 to 3-045. (Logbook numbers match CASC chassis plate numbers, you see...)

Steve Scala, I don't believe the number on the cage is the CASC log book number. I know the 3- XXX method existed from the early 70's. Mine is 3-016 from 1972. I believe the foil numbers on the cages are some numbering system for the cages. I don't know when this was used. To Steve Jagman, what year/ make/model is the car with 000044 on the cage ?

I don't believe the number on the cage is the CASC log book number.

That's unfortunate, 'cos I haven't seen any cage records around here...

Get a hold of Nick Holmes at Bert & Ernies. He has all the history. The Players car you bought from me was named "Kim" by the Holmes gang and she raced with her sister car in Players, Firehawk just to name a couple. I know Kenny Wilden (sp) won a 24 hour race in "Kim". She did a lot of racing and had about 6 different owners sinde Nick raced the car.

Check with CSC ,that tag may be the s/n for the cage itself.
It's not a CASC #.

Thanks for the refresh on the info Perry, I will contact Nick.

also, the the s/n 44 is ona CASC foil tag. goes way back. Just wanted to know if CASC kept inspection records etc. from back then.
