The RSO AGM is one week away.
Given the huge outpouring of promises and electioneering one year ago, it seems odd that nothing substantive has been proposed for this year. The current board must view that as an endorsement of their many accomplishments this past year. Should be a quick meeting. The minutes mention two possible candidates for the open executive positions. No mention of who, or of any "platform" from a candidate. What a change from a year ago when there were so many ideas.
At least there is no need for another proxy war like last year. The 30th aniversary celebration plans seems to be progressing well and I, for one, am excited to see the program offered.

So - bottom line - Anyone planning on attending and if so, why? Any issues that need to be brought forward? Who is running for the board? What are the candidates' platforms?

Comment?

Peter Guess I am dancing!!!

**************

Reacting to requests from several members of the Rally Community I will if formally nominated run for Treasurer of RSO.

I think that the Treasurer is one of the most important roles within any Association as with out upto date $$ numbers no Executive can work effectively.

Credentials are important and while I would very happily send on my resume to anyone interested
I am retired allowing me time to spend on Motor Sport
During my multi faceted work history I have been both Office Administrator and manager for a Multi million dollar business.
Have managed a large number of Construction crews in the house and cottage industry
Most importantly balanced my cheque book each month

I have been a member of PMSC since 1984
I have served on the Executive of PMSC in almost every Executive position. Never as Treasurer 'boy does PMSC know something??'
Along with Peter Watt created and organized almost all Galway-Cavendish Forest Rallies.
Have organized a number of ORRC events
Outside of Ontario I am Chief Technical Advisor to Targa Newfoundland.

I feel one of the most important duties of RSO Treasurer is to ensure $$ are spent in a manner that is most beneficially to the sport. I intend to act somewhat as a watchdog' if elected.

I have been an out spoken critic of the RSO BoD and I don't intend to change that. There is a saying 'If you are not part of the solution to a problem, you are the problem' So hopefully I can be a 'solution'

May I have your vote at the RSO AGM.

I went to the dance, and got a $20 parking ticket. Sorta sucks when it costs extra to go to one of these meetings. To the Board: please pick a venue with suitable amount of free parking or I'm stayin' home!

Craig

Parking was $4 all day across the road. You had to get a ticket from machine. I did hear that one machine didn't work. However, the other one did.

In that case, did I mention there was no coffee or muffins at the meeting? How I long for the days of the AGM in Peterborough!
(ps - at least two others got tickets, too. I figured the parking across the road would pretty much be the same deal).
