Forgive my dumb questions. I haven't been out to a Solo 2 event yet. If pre-registration doesn't happen, do I simply show up at the event with cash and forms in hand? I need a tech form for each event don't I?

What time is best?
What would the cost be? I registered for the series at CSC Open House but not any events.
Do I need magnetic letters for my car?
Can I use a open face motorcycle helmet?

The last two are probably in the rulebook - please point me to the appropriate section. I'm reading the pdf file.

Thanks, Doug

Doug,
The some of the information you're looking for will be up later today on the website.

You have to show up with cash in hand, even if you do pre-register. All pre-reg is doing for us is allowing the registrar, Brian, to know who is coming to an event before-hand. This allows him to take steps to make the wait in line shorter (aka, as pre-registered, series registered competitor, you get to go in the line that's moving quickly, instead of the line that's filling out the paperwork).

What time is best?
Registration Opens 7:30
Registration Closes 9:00
Drivers Meeting 9:30
First Run 10:00

What would the cost be?
Depends on the host club. That information will be on the website, as I receive it.
Since each club sets their own fees, we do not have online payment.

Do I need magnetic letters for my car?
You need to identify your car with the number you selected/were given at the open house during registration. It's up to you how you do that. When you're blessed with an aluminum car, the magnets don't work so well ;)
Some people use washable "window" markers, painter's tape, number magnets... as long as the numbers are on driver and passenger sides of the car, easily legible and the regulation size (think big), you're good.
If magnets are your deal, contact Perry at Mad Macs (one of the series sponsors!) and he'll hook you up with regulation magnets.

Can I use a open face motorcycle helmet?
If it is Snell M95 rated, or higher, yes you can. DOT-only is not allowed.
If you are purchasing a helmet, go for SnellM2000, since this is the last year M95 is allowed. You WILL be asked to show the Snell sticker.
See this thread (http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=8057) for the whole lowdown on the helmet issue.

And as for "point me at the right pages," well, you're supposed to read the entire thing and there's a Table of Contents. RTFM ;)

Hope this helps!

Doug,... RTFM ;)That stands for Read the FULL Manual, by the way. ;)

Seriously, nice summary Opal!

UPDATED TO ADD: Not working yet. I seem to be suffering from a case of unreasonable optimism. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

Pre-registration is now open.

I'm not claiming it's bug-free, and it appears to throw errors when you add a vehicle or associate that vehicle with a garage. At this point, since I successfully added a vehicle to my garage despite the errors, my only recommendation is ignore the system's complaining.
Worst case, remove all of your vehicles from your login and start over.

Please report all pre-reg bugs to me (opal AT silvermouse DOT ca) rather than bugging Yvan, please.

How do you add events to the registration? I don't see it as an option on the schedule.

I'm not sure what you're asking, Doug.
Go here http://solo2.casc.on.ca/registration/index.php , login, and click Event Registration.

Hi Opal,

When we sign in, and go to the event registration page, there are no live links to click so we can register for the event.

Example:

1) Sign in using email address and password
2) Click on Advanced Registration
3) Select event (This is where the problem lies, there are no clickable events for us to register in).

If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know.

Thanks for your assistance.

Ah HA!

Okay, well, guess what... until we process the people who are series registered, there are no links!
Go figure. I hadn't a clue about that feature.

Sorry guys, false alarm. Pre-registration is pending.

I was able to pre-register for event one without any issue.

steps I took:

1) I signed in to the pre-registartion section
2) I clicked the link that said event registration
3) All events were listed, I clicked "register" on the first one
4) checked off all boxes
5) filled in the required number
6) clicked registeration
7) all done... same as it was last year.

regards,

Jason.

One more time... if we haven't processed your registration paperwork, you cannot do this pre-reg thing.
Which means that very few people have access right now.
So, hang in there kids, it'll go full live later this week. Honest.
