considering it was a busy weekend.. Hada on sat, Barrie and regionals on sunday..

just wanna thank those 60ish drivers who made it out to event 1

We would also like to mention that events will operate even smoother in the future now that we have done our first event at this location as well as our newly adopted marshalling style.
It is amazing how two seemingly simple things such as these can pose a challenge for an experienced group of organisers.

Love the new lot and marshalling system - it's much easier to sit out an entire run. But how come we only had 5 timed runs? There was plenty of time for a 6th and even more ... :confused:

There was plenty of time for a 6th and even more ... :confused:More runs would have been difficult to co-ordinate with the new marshalling system. We had to think quickly just to get the day going.

Since everyone should have marshalled once at that point, we hit a dilemma at how to do it fairly (and easily, from an organizational perspective) if we were going to do more runs. We talked about going through the whole rotation again, but that was going to take another 3 hours. And as people leave, it becomes harder and harder to fill in the gaps. We talked about doubling up the marshalling teams, which would have meant 2 more runs each, but again, it wasn't planned and wouldn't have been easy to do on the fly.

So in the end, and in the interest of everyone's time, we stopped after 5 runs and allowed for a lot of fun-runs. Sometimes its nice to get home early :)

We're already planning the marshalling for the next event to make this as smooth as possible for everyone!

Very understandable, Ry. Actually, I just thought about it - you only had 6 marshall groups which would allow 5 timed runs, which is obviously fair. Man, I think I've been outside in the sun too long this weekend. :)

Either way, great job to the MSOC crew for a great event. Definitly looking forward to the rest of the season.

My first event ever.. it was great... fun course, and i liked the marshalling system. good job PITL and all involved :D

Does the website state that the June 25th is cancelled?

Also September 8th is a Friday. Is PITTL now expanding to week days? It won't conflict with other events and I am pretty sure I can get the day off work..... :)

Yes, an alternate date is being sought to replace the cancelled June 25th event, but no news yet.
The other SHOULD read Saturday, September 9th, 2006!
