head pulled today........

so the head was pulled today....

here is the damage...

cyl 1=ok
cyl 2= 2 valves chipped due to detonation
cyl 3=ok
cyl 4= head gasket blew...

lucky for me and my NISSAN truck motor i have a spare head with 80kk on it waiting in my garage to be installed..i picked the whole head up assembled for $100 this spring.. cheap NISSAN truck parts....

SO i might be at the next event!!!!

another update....

cyl #2 valve seat chipped
cyl #4 combustion chamber has a crack in it...

so the head i have is CRAPOLA

i am putting on my spare head this weekend..it is getting hot tanked, and new valve seals put in... as we speak

now i have to find another spare head as a back up

Thankfully the damaage is limited to the head only .... much easier and cheaper to fix.

yeah $150 to hot tank and resurface the head
and $150 to take it apart install valve seals and lapp the valve seats

then its a good as new :)
