Vehicle lease buyouts??

sorry guys , this is a non competition question. Any one know of where I could find out about what buyout prices are at the end of leases ?? I am interested in buying a minivan ( don't you all get jealous on me!) that has come off lease . Obviously the dealer price is high but if I know what they were prepared to let it go for on the buyout then we can do some more serious talking .

You can do a couple of things, get a Canadian Black Book and find out the wholesale value of the van, and offer the dealer a quick $500 more and drive it away. Find out what it was worth brand new, calculate a residual value of around 45 to 47% at the end of a 4 year lease and that could guide you as to what the buyout was. Unfortunately you don't know if there was a deposit on the van that affected the persons buyout figure.

I was lucky at getting a 1999 GrandPrix GT ,100km for $9,000
from my brothers company leases, but sorry they don`t have any vans

Just ask the seller to call the lease company and ask for the buyout. You can get a buyout cost at anytime during a lease but if you buyout before the full term, they charge the tax still owing. If you lease and trade in for another lease before its up, I don't think you pay the tax.
