Hi everyone,
The Peterborough Motor Sports Club is pleased to announce the 2006 Galway-Cavendish Forest Rally is now open for business. The event will be held on Saturday, August 19th 2006 in Catchacoma, Ontario. The Supplementary Regulations and entry form is now available at http://www.pmsc.on.ca/ .
This year the event will be held on the same smooth single road with a few new added features. First, this will be a recce event with an optional note school in the morning followed by a 2 pass recce. Second, there will be a performance Classic Division offered so we can all enjoy the cars of yesterday. Also there will be a Classic TSD before the start of each stage. TSD information will fallow shortly so please check the web page for updates. To all that enter, there will also be a free entry draw for GCFR 2007.
The organizing committee would like to thank our sponsors CSC Racing, Belcroft Tree Farms, the Canadian Jig Grinding Company and Clear Water Design for the support they are giving the event this year.
We are always in need of workers so if you are interested please e-mail Peter Gulliver at gcfrrally@gmail.com. We thank Clear Water Design for donating a Kayak for the workers draw.

Thank you

The start / finish is at the Catchacoma Community Centre which is on County Road 507 about 200 meters south of Beaver Lake Road. The stage is located approximately 5 km south of that.
Hope to see you there
Cheers,
Peter

Well guys with all the damage done up around Catchabcomba from the thunderstorms that rumbled across our province' I hope your rally is not conflicted by this.
I know their was a huge amount trees down and power is out for quite a while due to a unconfirmed tornado up their.. Emergency crews are working around the clcok to clean up, so hope everything goes smooth for them..

For those who have concerns about Storm Damage in the area of GCFR.

The road used by GCFR is open the trucks hauling Limestone are doing exactly that.

Power in the area to those cottages homes etc not back on the Grid should be completed by Wednesday of this week

Heck we ran GCFR the year of the big power outage with no power.

We must remember that the GCFR roar is maintained by Staff at Parnell's Quarry. They have several million $$$ of equipment at there disposal, a few trees across the road mean nothing to them.

JUST REMEMBER SEED DRAW IS TUESDAY AUG 8th ENTRIES [WITH PAYMENT ] NEED TO BE SUBMITTED PRIOR TO THEN FOR BEST PRICE AND TO BE PART OF DRAW

I drove the road today and it has never been in better shape. Smooth, but with loose gravel in several areas. The edges can be soft and rutted, especially in the places where the road has been recently widened. The first pass or two may be a bit slippy. If you're wondering, Alan Ockwells corner has been changed and the ditch that claimed him twice as codriver has been filled in. Rob's hollow is still there and still hungry.
There is virtually no sign of the tornados that touched down just a few km north of the stages. Our start finish area is used to marshall the Hydro trucks and feed the workers that are restoring some semblance of order to the local community.
