www.solosprint.ca (http://www.solosprint.ca/) has recently been updated for 2006 by the CADL organizers, in both English and French!

This not-to-be-missed event will take place over three days at St. Eustache, with a Saturday practice and competition days on both Sunday the 3rd and Monday the 4th of September.

All for only $300 until August 15th ($355 after).

Both days of the CSC will be separately scored as Events #7 and #8 of our Mobil 1 2006 Ontario SoloSprint Championship Series as well. :cool:

Let's make sure that Ontario drivers prove whose fastest on any racetrack! :D

FYI, there is also another test day scheduled for Friday Sept 1st. It is organised by TLC and I can email info to anyone interested.

I hope to see a big turn out from our neighbors to the west.....

So we have 23 Ontarians so far, are there more to come? I expect a sold out event but I hope that you guys don't wait until the last minute to register.

BTW, we are invited to stay for the Friday nite drag races and the Saturday nite stock car races.... I guarantee a good time watching the roundy rounders!!

Are you sure you're still in T3? Remember... we're using 2005 rules for this!

if we are using 2005 rules then i actualy have 1 extra pip to play around with, i think... haha

is modification to the air intake system BEFORE the filter a pip under 2005 rules?

Don't forget that the SoloSprint championship rules are being run as well... so you may be running in two classes at once and will need to decide which one you're gunning for.

alright, someone thats on the up and up should make a short and to the point post about what the hell is going on with the different rule sets and which side you have to pic exactly etc etc etc

cuz honestly i'm confused, ahahahah

Nationals = last year's rules.

so what does Chris mean by running two classes at once?

so what does Chris mean by running two classes at once?

National = 2005 rules
SoloSprint events 7&8 = 2006 rules

It just so happens that the events are one and the same. The Nationals are just a 2 day event, but your points scored on those days also apply towards our 2006 SoloSprint championship (which uses 2006 rules). So, you could potentially run in two different classes (in 2005, my car was in SGT1 ... this year it is SGT2). If you want to win the Nationals, you might want to optimize for your 2005 class, but this will likely screw up your SoloSprint classification, so pick which you want to go for ... Nationals champ, or SOloSprint champ! Clear as mud?

well i lose a pip for loss of suspension convergence but gain a pip for intake modification

so i'm still in the same boat, pun intended :cool:

Does anyone have a track map of St. Eustache? Neither the CSC nor the track website have a track map. It would be nice for the first timers to have some idea of which way the track goes before we show up.

There's also a small layout here (http://www.etracksonline.co.uk/)* that's a bit clearer than the image on the pdf, although not nearly as informative a document.

* some navigation required.

I was going to do that but then I thought people might like to check out e-tracks if they hadn't before.

That, and tech support wasn't answering. :(

Google is your friend!!

OOPS, sorry, Craig beat me to the punch..... Dave is one of our experienced instructors, so his walk through should help a lot!!

BTW, if anyone from Ontario that wants to be seriously up to speed at this track for the Nationals, should be aware that there is a supplemental test day on the Friday held by TLC.
Call me for details.

Stumbled on this just now (http://www.fastridingschool.com/english/steustache.html#directions). There's links for directions to the track another pdf of the circuit.

Hey mister IT-whiz Serge, check out your gif now. My primitive hyperlink still works. ;)

There's actually a kink in the long back straight on the right of that picture about 3/4 down the stretch that Serge posted, and they call it " The bus stop "... It takes alot of speed off of that long haul of a straightaway, and it can be tricky if you go into it too hot... A few peeps swapped paint with it during the school.. It's kinda cool they put it in... :D It is easily seen in Opals video...

Oh, believe me, we were muttering when we got home and realized!

Hopefully we'll get better footage this weekend - sans rearview. And passing too. Phooey.

Carl, Anamaria, how are you handling the mixed classing?

I'm SGT2 for Ontario, SGT1 for National competition based on the CCC database from last year. Any special place that we need to communicate this?

SGT1... ooo... great.

I'm in the same boat ... not sure how it'll all work out, but I'm sure the organizers have it well in hand!

I believe the general stance is that this is a Nation event and only National results will be posted throughout the course of the event and in the evening drivers meetings. I will try to hold a drivers meeting afterwards to go over the Ontario results. However, I have not really received any communication from Quebec organizers on this.....

The only classification that counts as far as the Canadian Championship is concerned is the ASN 2006 Soloprint classes. I believe that Christian will crunch numbers afterwards for CASC points.

Remember your car will be classes based on its actual prepartion in regards to the National rules.

Chris, you know where to reach me if you have any concerns. I did however speak with Christian Sorensen before he left on business and he said he was taking care of the CASC stuff.

I will be bringing the registration database so that we can upload the Nationals competitors into a "special copy" of it in order to feed the timing/results programs and create the gridding worksheets. This database will reflect our class according to the ASN rules.

For those of us wanting to also score on the Ontario series, we'll have a separate copy of the database reflecting our classes according to our Ontario rules.

Like Carl/Krispy said (and I'm quoting Christian on this one): "...all of the displayed results during the event would be done according to the Nationals scoring. The Ontario results can be calculated and distributed later and should not detract from the Nationals results!..."

ScotcH

And I will have the CCC database with me as usual for the Ontario classifications.

Of course someone needs to review all the classifications for the ASN rules, since I notice a few people in the wrong class on the entry list for this weekend.
