I wish to express my thanks and gratitude to all the competitors, officials and club members from the regional clubs that allowed us to bring our Solo II circus to town.

Of special note is the contribution of Wes Tanney who volunteered a considerable amount of his precious time co-ordinating events, rounding up scores and entering them into our scoring program and for his dilligence in maintaining the Solo II area of the SoloOntario web site. It once again proves that if you need something done, give it to a busy person.

Wes has become the voice of regional Solo II through his many postings on this and other web sites and has been quick to answer all questions directed at him.

A special mention to my wife Wendy who provided much support to my racing efforts and to the running of the series starting way back in the spring with her particpation in proof reading the rule book, to the registration desk at the open house, for her attendance at the registration desk at every event, to the reconciliation of funds with the CASC-OR offices, to her participation in the banquet (well tha's still to come).

We faced some serious challenges throughout the year including but not limited to the changes to the rule book, the Insurance issues in the spring, to the many changes of the schedule throughout the competition year, to the cancellation of a couple of events, to the necessity of applying the rule book in the fairest and most equitable manner. But in the end the rules are the rules.

This has been a year of learning for Wes, Wendy and myself. We expect to use this new found knowliedge to organize and operate the 2003 CASC-OR Regional Solo II series in a well organized and professional manner to ensure the particpants experience the best that Solo II can offer.

We are left with 3 important events before we close off our competition year:

The Shoot out - (October 12th) get your pre-registration information to Wendy@racerrobb.com. I'm sure you don't want to miss out on this premier event. There is a 70 competitor cap. We have more then 1/2 the spots reserved so far.

The workshop - to be held in conjunction with the Solo I workshop at the CASC-OR offices on the day of the banquet, Novermber 2nd.

The Banquet - lots 'o prizes, Trophies, great food, and a chance to see everyone in their party duds.

Robert W Smith
CASC-OR Solo II Director

Hope to see you all out there next year!
