For your information here is the intended course design: http://www.wosca.com/Event_info/06-regional-map.jpg

Don't worry about printing it out, there will be hand-out photocopies at the event.

Closest camping is Fanshaw Lake Conservation Area (which is very close actually)
http://www.camis.com/UTCA/camping/maps.asp?loc=75

The closest hotel is the Airport Inn & Suites (http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/mp/ON/LONDON/Airport%2BInn%2B%2526%2BSuites/519/4571200/2230%2BDundas%2BStreet/London/N5V1R5/0/1/0000000000000929220068220507.html)
Warning, do not confuse this hotel with the Airport Hotel, which is a dive!

Closest fast food can be found at Clarke Rd and Dundas St. (couple of city blocks away). There will be onsite food. Hopefully the same hot dog vender from last year. If not then pizza will be brought in.

Map of the area with local food and the hotel & camp ground mentioned (http://local.live.com/?v=2&cid=289B2705B1EA0582!101)

For things to do;
The local non-competition car club hangs out at the Blockbuster at Richmond and Fanshaw Park Rd. if that's your bag. The get together around 6pm. There is good shopping at the mall across the street and your typical chain restaraunts around there two.

If you are looking to go out Saturday night there are bars all along Richmond Street between Oxford and Dundas (known as Richmond Row locally). I frequent the Brass Door in King just east of Richmond. It's and irish pub and the the Sat regular is a guy that does Irish, Scotish and Aerican folk music.

Grand Bend beach is 45 minutes North West and Port Stanely beach is 45 minutes South. Both are excellent beaches.

The best mountain biking trail in the city goes around Fanshaw lake starting at the conservation area camp ground. There are paved trails all along the Thames river through out the city. Infact you can ride from Hamilton Rd east of Highbury (south east end) through downtown then along the north branch to the University without crossing a city street. If you continue on the dirt you can easily get back to where Highbury have crosses the north branch of the Thames. The good canoeing is along the east branch from east of the city into down town.

OK, I've confirmed that a Hot Dog cart is coming. If you want something esle you'll have to drive. There is also a Subway near the other food joints in the north-east corner of Clarke and Dundas.
