Well some of you may have noticed there was a post in the Extra events section about a lapping day hosted by a Company called SRR. Well I went to it today not totally expecting to do to well, because most of the cars are hondas and they are more often modifeid by there owners. So as I leave my house this morning I noticed it was raining so I thought to myself today might not be so bad after all (I am half Scotish). After the nice and long drive I pull into Shannonville too see some nice looking civics and one or two Type Rs, mean while it is still a heavy dew.

The circut we were going to run was the Full track after the morning of lapping (note: lots of laps) somebody put oil down all most all around the track and it was getting really slippery dugh. So then they decided to run the Pro track whitch I actually liked better I was still sliding around like I was on ice(yes I had my RA1s on the car with only four grooves;) . So after about one they started to have there style of a solo1 they gave each driver two and a half laps, one warm up and one timed and the half you got of the track on the fabi straight. This was actually pretty fun.

So here I go trying to get a fast fast lap and it is still really wet thank god(Scotish thing) as I enter the track I start of at a nice pace so not to show my cards to early, hehe anyway come around for my timed lap enter the first corner it starts to slide like it has all morning second corner bit more of the same the rest of the track was sticky. The car that was on track before me was a 97-98 gsr with road tires we'll just say push, I caught him entering the hairpin on the front straight (I also figured the line of that hair pin)so not knowing if to pass or not I didn't want a bad time so I passed him and won the intermidiat class with a lap time of 1.34.59X. This time would have been good enough for second of the advanced class :) . So I am now looking at a little trophy and front and rear SRR racing shocks for a Honda Civic hehehe.

Oh the winer of the advance class was the guy with the black Acura RSX I think all you Solo1 guys know him. I was two second of his timed lap.

Good job Ryan! I wish the weather had been a bit more favourable. Maybe I should have slapped on the Yokos and given it a shot. The Kumhos certainly would have been useless in the rain with little (er, no) tread. I take it that it was a little wet all day long? :)

It dried up late in the afternoon but there were plenty of cars sliding off the track, Heck I even spun the car around corner two(the banked corner)

hey Ryan, good job man!!

So you are Scotish, no wonder you are so fast in the rain!!

Sound like a fun day!! Too bad I have enough of driving in the rain and decided no to go. But wow, a set of racing shocks!!! Can you trade it in and ask them for a set for the Cavalier!?? Also getting within 2sec of the black RSX!! Thats really something as I have seen how fast he can be in the dry. Good job!! I am just happy I am not in your class!!

Wow it is funny how my car looks different when somebody takes a picture of it (btcc Vauxhual hehehe). thats kewl. I guess all of this solo racing has made me wise to wait for a good passing chance. But I like racing in the rain like everybody says it is an equalizer.
