oh boy. my rental car arrived. aka the "G5", i cant believe how low-rent this car is. the seats suck. the tires suck. the steering wheel sucks. the stereo is pretty good.
no power anywhere. and a LOT of fisher price plastic.
does GM really think they can compete with this crap against the Japanese or the Koreans on a per/$ basis?
i knew i should have taken the sentra. hopefully i can switch it up, because this car is atrocious.

I had one for a week a while ago... It vibrated on the highway, when I returned it and complained about the vibration the rental company said "ya we know, they all do that".

this one has around 32,000 on it and there's already weird bumpy noises in the suspension.
the interior fan makes ticking noises on the two low speeds.
the air-leak in the rear window is really hot, too.

Wow, and to think I wanted to GT edition at one point. I work a company that supplys GM, Ford, Crysler so I will try and remain loyale but if they keep going this direction I will have no choice but to switch. My company is trying to get into the Japanese Market but its hard to, they like the suppliers that they already have so it will always hard to break into the japan market.

IIRC the one I drove had about 1500km on it.

I drove a cobalt with about 1000km on it. Except for the interior I was relatively impressed (compared to the J-body it replaced). But then I do realize that American cars develope rattles very fast. I would only buy one if I had the intention of gutting the interior and replacing all the bushings asap... or maybe if I was a GM mechanic that got parts cheap and could replace them myself. ;)

ohwell you know its a rental and you can't be certain if someone has allready pranged it off a curb something, the ones that I have driven all seemed to be pretty decent but then again I am not expecting it to be like a Bentley.

I rented a Pursuit to go to Shannonville last year. It was brand new from Hertz and was impressed with it. Its a big improvement over the old Cavalier/Sunfire twins. Yeah the interior is a little plastiky, but I thought it had decent pep and a comfortable ride. If the reliability is there, I'd buy one.

Spoonie I think you must have got the one that my buddy rented. I was showing him how to do reverse donuts in it and with it's gutless power on dry pavement it took me awhile to get it right...LOLOLOL (true story) :D
