Nice! Glad you finally got a real suspension...no more cornering on your bump stops and porpoising thru every corner. I'm looking forward to giving your car a try with the Teins :)

ADAM
12-03-2002, 04:23 PM
lucky i ordered them 4 months ago..they were on a very slow boat from japan :)

yeah i have no excuses now..ok i guess i could come up with a few more excuses for hondas beating me... :)

dave...when are you going to help me install those puppies....

Chris P
12-04-2002, 12:18 AM
Adam, you just need a little help setting them up........

Dave
12-04-2002, 01:20 AM
Adam, we can install them anytime you're free. My schedule is pretty flexible over the next few weeks.

Adam,

NOW you have NO excuse , as that you have a real suspension setup... instead of the 80's vintage suspension setup hauling around that truck block you call a motor.

If you are not faster thru the corners now ..we know where the problem is dont we : P

I also have a pretty flexible schedule right now ..so give me a ding if you wish so assitance in the installation ... With Pratte there as well we can tag team the abuse at you : P

Cheers

Moose

ADAM

yeah that would be fun.....when i talk to dave i will ask him to ask you to come as well.....i will have to keep an eye on both of you so no sabotage takes place...

ADAM
12-04-2002, 11:58 AM
i will be looking for your input on the set up of these things..when spring comes you can come lapping with me..and help me set up the car..

Whats the point in sabotaging you .... You will do it to yourself anyways ....

Adam + Boost + Nissan = KABOOM !!!!!!!

: P

Suspension Setup .. no probs ... But we are a bunch of FWD boys ... so our setup rules differ somewhat from what you will be doing .. you may want to talk to the boys who road-race the 240's to figure out what spring-rates work well ... we can go from there.

Dave

Yeah, I'd suggest trolling the Improved Touring board for info on the spring rates those guys are running on their 240's. Then you can look to do a similar spring rate stagger from front to back.

I would have got JIC. Thats my next dream mod.

Dave
12-08-2002, 03:01 AM
The JIC FLT-A2's are very nice, comparable to the Tein RA's and also sold at Kennedy Hi-Fi, but they're only marginally less expensive and they are not as well supported as Tein. In fact, Teins are fully rebuildable and revalvable in California at Tein USA, while the JIC stuff has to be shipped back to Japan for repair or custom valving. BUT, you can order the JIC A2's with custom valving and whatever spring rates you want right out of the box, so if you know what you want you can get a very custom set-up from the start with this product. It's really just the servicing that worries me, since shipping to/from Japan will take many many weeks. Teins, on the other hand, have about a 7-10 day turn-around time on rebuilding/revalving.

Zeal and Buddy Club are also excellent JDM suspension names. You can't go wrong with the higher end offerings from all this companies. I'm partial to Tein only because they are fully servicable in North America, while all the other JDM stuff has to go back to the mother land :)

I think you can get JIC serviced in US as well. JIC is new to NA so they are gettng things set up. I prefer the upside down front struts of the JIC for strength and unsprung weight savings... if you have front struts. Definetly go with the A2s. I know a dealer in the US who has a lot of expeirence road racing my type of car and sells them already set up with their recommended springs but can be changed of course.

Nice looking set-up!

ADAM

Moose

Whoa Adam. I'd be more than a little concerned with that hairline crack in the shock body. Look carefully and you'll see it.

Other than that, it looks great, you Nissan gopher!:D

they are 300zx twin turbo rotors...basdy worn from hawke blues....nissan had enough sense that almost all nissan cars can swap brakes by justing bolting them on

ctheo

Did you order a fire supression system too?

Weasels live in the forest and we aren't too keen on you burning it down.

Play safe!

Dave
01-28-2003, 03:48 PM
don't make me go turbo to keep you humble, Adam-bomb. Actually, if I really wanted to keep you humble I'd buy a Skunk2 B18C race block. They're good for 240whp with the right head package and tuning. That and a diet of fiberglass body panels and you'd remain my Nissan punching bag :) Remember, until you actually beat me I retain my right to smack talk you to death!

ADAM
01-28-2003, 03:58 PM
dave,
the time is coming...don't worry...the time is coming.......you are on top now.....i agree....but the new season is almost here....

re: fire supression...
when i go to get my car corner weighted..i will order a system from csc racing....and install it....

he he...the only flames you honda weasels will see are the ones from exhaust when i shift :)

ctheo
01-28-2003, 04:13 PM
Good to hear about the fire supression.

We'll all look forward to seeing flaming (bits and pieces of truck motor) shooting out of your exhaust this season!

Arrrrrrgggghhhhhh ! ! !
Adam - Say it isn't so.

Isn't there something in the bylaws about promoting the use of Honda prodocts for motorsports.

Adam - what you are giving into is scary. If they can do this - they can do ANYTHING!

Is it too late to resign and plead temporary insanity?

(btw - is anyone left in BAC?)

hmmm...now that i am inside the devils belly...i can destroy them from within..... ha ha ha ha... or at least torture them endlessly...like the last dyno session i went to with them.....very sad....very sad :)

re: BAC
hmmm..well blair and eric..are leaving for the corvette club.....and i am going to HADA...so not sure who is really left now...not to many key people left to run things...they need some new blood...

Nick - we're coming after you next !!!!!

Dave
02-13-2003, 02:36 PM
Nick, all we require for membership is ownership of Honda vehicle (Adam has a CR-V), we don't require our members to compete in a Honda (though obviously that is our preference). And to be honest, having Adam compete in a non-Honda product IS promoting the Honda/Acura brand given all the sound thrashings we get to lay on him year after year after ever so glorious year :) That being said, we are in covert discussions with your extraordinarily intelligent Honda-driving wife to bring you both over to the 'correct' motorsports club we like to call HADA ;)

Ok, I'm off to court now as a witness to a accident, where an Eagle Talon driver rear-ended some poor lady in a minivan. Typical Talon driver, eh Nick?

I own a honda generator and a honda pressure washer. Does that work?

ctheo
02-14-2003, 10:08 AM
If you can ride them (for transportation, not pleasure) you'd be welcome to join.

Shaman, I saw a shirt and it reminded me of you. It read, "My lug nuts require more torque then your honda makes"

Gary
02-14-2003, 09:11 PM
Speaking of wannabe's, my son's kart is Honda powered, will that do??? Got extra motors if one isn't enough.......

Oh, yeah, gotta Honda generator, too.

What do I drive? Does that matter?

Uh, well, since you asked, I guess they call it DEEEETRoit Iron. Got one from all three. Sorry 'bout that. Can I join anyway? I'm looking for a club.......

:D
