Looks like I can make it to 5 of the 7 events this year so you better bring your A game and you better pray that we get no rain. LOL

Looking at the web page, all events are now "open to all" instead of a few "members only" events?

You know its been my experience not to take TLMC events seriously. We have been TLMC members for the last 5 years and we still get let off of club results, not to mention errors in timing.

One of the times was left off due to uncompleted marshalling stints. What other errors were made? Please let me know. You were/are (I'll admit I don't know if you've renewed for this year) a member of our club so if you have any issues (which it is clear you do) come to a club meeting with the 5-6 of us that do attend and voice your concerns there. Our series is just a club series so please don't muckrake it like everyone does the regional series on this board, we're not involved with the regional series at all this year so keep us out of any politics.

Thanks!

Since you asked and others have questioned:

One of the times was left off due to uncompleted marshalling stints.
There were no uncompleted marshalling stints. I know for a fact that we actually did more stints than were even required. I did an exrta marshalling stint for Andrew not realizing he had done one. He was in the marshal first before running group that day. As if the 4 marshalling stints were not enough he only did 2 real runs because the 3rd run had a cone out of place and was the reason for him not finishing the run. He did not take the rerun because it started to rain so we packed it in. I even stopped in before leaving to say goodbye and no one mentioned a thing.

You were/are (I'll admit I don't know if you've renewed for this year) a member of our club
This is correct and for some reason when you look at 2006 club scoring it shows??? nothing.

No score at all for the year.

Our series is just a club series so please don't muckrake it like everyone does the regional series on this board, we're not involved with the regional series at all this year so keep us out of any politics.
You know for a small laid back club series I have never seen any other club enforce rules on the spur of the moment like TLMC does. I remember an event when a car was substituted for another because of a vehicle malfunction. I asked if it would be allowed and was told yes. Those times were disqualified because someone felt that substitution should not be allowed. I was told by George that these were club rules and if I was a club member I would have known that. I looked at him in shock and said "We are club members! Since when was this rule made?" He said "Since the last meeting." I then showed him my membership card, wich he seemed surprised to see.

What other errors were made?

Yes errors were made and yes there were more.

June 12, 2005 a 97.2 gets recorded as a 87.2 when you look at the club score for the year.

We also have alot of cones out of location that do not get fixed. IMO sometimes we are just too laid back on certain things.

No one can tell me there are no politics in TLMC. The shootout was changed to make cone penalties score as a DNF because Andrew was able to win overall even with 2 second cone penalties.

P.S. I do not blame you Steve I know that you are not in control of their decisions or even how lax the course workers are, but this is very frustrating.

Is TLMC going to be at the SOLO open house?

I know that it is very frustrating. Thank you for compiling the info and links or me.

I will be at the Solo Open House but TLMC will not be.

JC, that same shootout scoring was changed back the next year because I won the event with a very slow lap due to my competitor hitting a cone (thereby getting a DNF). If you guys want to think it's all a conspiracy against the 2 of you then so be it but believe me it's not easy to run successful events with only a handful of active club members... There are an average of 3-5 of us at club meetings and we have to make all the decisions.

As far as switching cars... I have been running TLMC events sincve 2000 and we have always "scratched" times when someone switches cars. Dave would do this almost every event.

Dood, it's a small club series, we do what we can. It's easy to sit around your car at events and go "they should do this... they should do that" I know, I've done it at other events... then once I got into organizing them I shut up!

Ryan, you're right about getting in touch with nature... more specifically a really big tree. Healing up ok. Just getting back on my feet almost 2 months later.

All of these events, and any other club's events, are organized, and planned by volunteers.

If anyone has suggestions on improvements, they should come forward, volunteers are welcome. TLMC is built on good people like Gunter, George, Mavis, Steven, Todd, Frank, Mike, etc. who give their time so that others may be introduced and enjoy our similar passion for motorsport.

www.twinlakesmc.org list contacts, any concerns should be emailed to one of those contacts.

I know that we go out of our way to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, and certainly do our best to refrain from any negative comments we might otherwise like to relay. This is supposed to be a sport for gentlemen (and ladies).

TLMC Solo 2's are my favourite. Less than 1.5 hour drive, great lot, great people, (usually) great course design. AND they put in a 90 at the start so I don't have to do axle-snapping launches. Woo Hoo! :D

Joe never needed a tow truck home from Barrie!

Other priorities, (RV, camping with family) but the car is still working great. I had intended to do more last year but it never worked out that way. I did make it out for a few runs and the shootout.

Have also been working on a MK1 Jetta, that I guess will be for my kids by the time I am done. Ice racing a bit (with my 9 yr old co-pilot/coach).

New distraction: 100ftlbs, 2 wheels, so we may have to work on those rules a bit...

(note the theme here: 18 cylinders counted above...keeps me busy)

Thanks for asking,

Dave I saw you a few times at the ice races but never got the chance to say hi,think our classes were offset enough one was on track and the other close to being on track.
Hope to see you out at TLMC events, might make a May event if I can keep making progress with the car without problems.
