In case you've been under the local Solo 2 stone, this is a class and series winning automobile that has had the snot run out of it (in a very civilized manner).

I have decided it's time to move on with a new and challenging project.

Details

Transmission was just replaced (October 2002) (oops, did I have to replace another transmission?)
New Clutch (July 2002)
New Lower Control arm bushings (July)
New Rad (July)
K&N Filter
New Tie Rod ends (July)
New upper ball joint
Front end has been taken apart and put back together with anti-seize (it will come apart with ease)
245K
Does NOT burn ANY oil
All regular maintainance has been done regularly and oil is Mobil 1 Synthetic
E-tested (October 2002 - pass)

I have owned this car since April 2001 and have taken great care to maintain almost every mechanical aspect of this car. Previous owner (from 92-01) did ALL regular maintainence as outlined in the owner's manual.

Hey Wes,

The ride in the Dwarf car was too much fun for ya? :) So what's up next?

I am tired of maintaining two "race" cars and a daily driver, so I am retiring one, selling one and building a new one.

Tom was way too smug there in BSS, I have to get my butt up there and make him eat some humble pie:o (sorry Tom, I couldn't resist), besides trying to beat Ryan all the time was way too stressful. (just kidding)

Always looking for the new rush!

Are you guys talking about me again?I look forward to you giving me some competition next summer Wes,I was lucky to be on top of the heap when the dust settled.(does that sound smug?)
BTW I ran the corolla 3 prep points short of maxed out last summer(on street tires as well)next summer will be different.I need to make some changes(damn lots were alot rougher than expected!)to spring rates and wheel travel than we'll see how well the old corolla stands up to newer hondas!
No matter what happens I'm sure the competition will be close(might be the same thing only it won't be Ryan breathing down your neck!):D

Bss might be fun...I might move up there too.

Lets all run BSS,allready had the largest entries at every event anyway!
Maybe we should have a separate series just for BSS as there is probably enough cars in the province to do it.(just kidding)
Of course the more competition the better(I still woundn't like to lose though!)but the likelyhood of a BSS car winning overall goes down dramaticly. Here's a thought, why not include the # of class entries as one of the factors in determining the overall.I agree that rewarding a driver with a great backup run has merit, all some drivers have to do is beat a handfull of drivers(sometimes none at all)and beat the family pax average to earn 100 points to get a shot at using that backup to break the tie at seasons end.
I'm not a math teacher but a simple formula to apply # of entries to award points as part of the current system should be easy enough.Makes sense to me if a one guy has to beat 20+ cars and another only 2 than one of them likely had to work harder.
I'm not knocking anybody if you have a small class and I'm not saying that I should have finished higher(I could've been in a the tie breaking position if it hadn't been for that damn Wes and Ryan act in B1!).
I'd love to hear any comments on this thought, forums been way to quiet as of late.

Tom, we really don't have enough population to do something like that. Sorry, just seeing way to many things wrong with it however the general idea is a good one.

Heck, i won BSP this year becuase i ran 5 events, thats not very exciting.

You know what, if i was so determined i could make my CRX alot faster then it already is and move down a class in the process. Wouldn't you love that.

But enough of that shit talk, i just hope to be driving something next year!

Hey Chris I guess you didn't notice the (just kidding)in my post?
Anyways as a matter of fact I would love it if you moved to bss,if I don't run against some of the best heads up and screw the paxing and other crap that tries to compare cars of different classes how will I know where I stand as a driver??
I'm not the cocky racing guy,I know I need to improve my driving skills, running against proven drivers like you and Wes amongst others will speed up my learning curve.

Whats wrong with BSP? I'm going to feel left out with 20 competitors in BSS and me alone in BSP. I may have to join Patrick in Bmod just so I won't get lonely.

Chris P
12-11-2002, 06:57 PM
BSP, i donno, just you and me again? Nobody else wants to play with us

Brent

Chris, I think Bmod might be the way to go if there are only 2 of us in BSP. On the upside we would have a full class, on the downside we would pretty much need FTD to win the class.

Well I do have 7 more prep points to run BSP,wouldn't you love that Chris?
If I had extra cash(which I don't)I might move up,but I do like having more than 1 other guy to outrun so I'll run the corolla in SS again with some further tuning.

Chris P

meh, 7 point, doesn't really bother me. Whatever. You can try all you want but it won't happen

Brent, B-mod can be a scary place, don't think i'm ready to fight the demons yet.

Thats ok Chris, you and brent can stay in BSP and when I get the corolla fully sorted I'll just proposistion your butts!!,I think that would be worse then being beaten by another BSP car no?:D
I think Brent will be tough next year as some late year changes netted some noticable improvments.
