I know Winterpeg was submitting along with another in addition to Vancouver..

yea...it's looking like vancouver...which imo is dumb, how many people will really go to vancouver from across canada. but whatever we'll get it in winnipeg hopefully in '09 when it's back in the west. we're hoping to have a brand new venue by then anyways. believe me when it's in winnipeg it will be an awesome event. we had some pretty cool sponserships set up. i'm sure vancouver will do an excelent job.

Vancouver, eh? It is on my "places to go" list but, man, that's a trek. Also, three weeks later is Topeka. It would've been nice to have CAC the weekend before Topeka so that you could hit both. Winnipeg would be very conevenient for that.

I'm sure they'll have a great event and draw enough competitors from Alberta and the US of A.

Maybe ASN can hook up a deal with Hansens to transport our cars.:D
According to Google it's just over 4000kms from Toronto which would be around 400 litres of petrol for my Talon each way.

So, how about a road trip to the "Eastern Championship" a.k.a Slalom at Slemon next year? Doesn't help the Winnipeg folks though but this country is too darn big.

It was obvious that the CAC was going west and for most of the Quebecers the only viable site worth driving out to, would have been Manitoba.
Seeing as Alberta and Manitoba have already hosted the CAC, is just fitting that it would be in BC.

The date will help Joe and & tune up for the SCCA nationals afterwards.
Speaking of dates.....JC has a good idea.... in 2009, hopefully we can get back to back date CAC and SCCA nationals to make it one big road trip....I AM IN for sure.

Back to 2007.... yes the big EAST coast reunion will be at Slelom.... I have already given up my BUSCH series tix at CGV so that I can make it out to PEI.

Who is in?

Just to reiterate a concern... I hope that the CASC schedule will accomodate the fact that the Atlantic region big ass event is usually run on the first wek of August and it would be great if.......

1) FSAQ and CASC would not schedule a conflicting regional event on that weekend

2) We make this event THE Rendez vous for 2007!!!!

Who thinks that they make the trip?

Add more provinces to the interprovincial cup? I like that idea....I still need to get my butt out to compete in one of those.

We, the MCO and CADL may consider adding more provinces into the Interprovincial Cup, but the intention of the Cup was to foster competition between MCO and CADL. We agreed to alternate venues and rulesets. For next year it is in CADL's corner. We will run their rules on their lot. While it is a MCO event, it runs MCO's club rules for car classification and not the CASC-OR Regional ruleset.

This past year we attempted to use the Interprovicial Cup as another draw for the Regional Double Header weekend that we ran. From what I remember, we had 100 competitors from CADL and MCO for Saturday's Interprovicial Cup. There were maybe 5 Regional competitors for this event. Contrast that with Sunday's regional event. 50 odd competitors with maybe 20 regional people. Not great numbers by our count. Some of the CADL folks stayed around for Sunday, most did not. I suspect that it was because of a combination of different ruleset then what they run and without being a regional racer you are not particularly welcome to run the event. This is just my opinion, YMMV and all other excuses. In the end this is why I am trying so hard to change the Regional Series. The attendance has dropped considerably and the series is not financially viable at its current course.

At the end of the day, we the MCO and CADL may consider expanding the Interprovicial Cup, but it is kinda funny when this club event runs as many competitors as the last Canadian Nationals event. Something to ponder.

the Slalom @ slemon (First weekend in August) is so worth it. a Course that takes 100 seconds to complete rocks, also having ashphate and Concrete surfaces makes it super interesting with the changes in grip over different sections of the course.

For an Airport course there is nothing that comes close to this Lot in Canada.

it's worth the Drive to PEI.

Word on the internet is that there is an EXTENSIVE ride-and-drive program being planned!

I was surprised that VCMC got this as they cohosted in Calgary in 2005. I figured it would go to Winterpg but who knows what the selection criteria and process was.

Hopefully they will have a dedicated National site up and running soon with a forum section. I saw a post on the VCMC site that said they were going to use their own ruleset but it might have been a joke. Nothing official yet.

If I could find a local car to run I would consider going.

Does anyone have access to the 2005 results? The website that was used is no longer available and the ASN site has nothing.

This may make things interesting. In the past there was never any formal arrangements, not much seriousness on both sides.
Now it would be interesting to see if the ASN would provide some form of tow fund....

Without major (read: corporate) money on board, I don't know how you can have a great arrive and drive program. Unless no one in BC has a co-driver and they're all willing to let strangers drive their cars.

Who knows?

Upon a :20 sec scan... looks DAMN similar to SCCA ST classes...

I guess CAC (ASN / FIA) has decided to cherry-pick select scca classes... without publishing any long-term ruleset direction...

 :(

40 hours of driving, with 12 hours of driving a day is still a minimum of 3 days on the road each way...:(

you need a co-driver ... then you drive straight through

of course 2 people in a miata and all their gear... most likely not all going to fit.
