Cool, which one was that?
Hey, is that Narini Subaru the very same one they ice raced last year?

Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing when i saw it up there. Looks too clean to be an ice racer though, not enough dented panels.

As far as I know, it is the same one they ice raced this past season. Also as far as I know, it was the same one they used in targa newfoundland. You would have to ask Lisa Shaw to be exact though, she's friends with them.
**edit** BTW I was in car #36, the little Yellow VW Rabbit that died after the 1st stage.

Yes, the volunteers and staff for both the series and the rally itself have done an amazing job yet again.
BTW - the same photographer (Michael Tan - never met him, though) was there last year; if you competed at Tall Pines last year, try looking up your name under "Photos by driver" - there may be 2005 shots in there as well.

Ha, will ya look at that (http://www.motorsport.com/photos/select.asp?S=CARS&E=Rally_of_the_Tall_Pi%%%%%/Saturday_A1_Upper_Old_Has&Y=2006&O=24#)? You're on the list (http://www.motorsport.com/photos/driver.asp?O=F&L=K) and everything, man. Three down from Kenny Roberts Jr., and seventeen up from Kevin Cogan.
Heck, when I make that list one day, I'm gonna click on it twice a day for a month. Congratulations, dude.

Thanks man, never knew it was a big thing but I do now. I just wish they had spelt my bloody name right. Everyone spells it "Missions" when its actually spelt Missons, I'm use to it by now though. Thanks steve, and thanks for the links.

Yup - that's the one!
Ice-racing (his 2nd year) was done as a prep to proper rally-racing...
He's a great driver... and I'm sure Targa and Tall Pines has made him even faster!
I never used to notice those Legacy's... THEN... I Ice Raced against Narini last year... and he'd be stalking me... all over my mirrors... every damn corner... and he had no muffler on it... to the characteristic thump-thump-thump-thump of the H4 engine was clear... now... when I see one in traffic... coming up on me in traffic... or if I hear one... (I'm very aware of the sound now) my blood pressure rises... NO JOKE!
ROFL
:D :p :D :p
I loved racing against him...
Class act.

same car!!!
after ice racing, i built a cage for it and it got a PILE of other goodies.
Phil (dad) drove it at Targa with Nick co-driving. At Pines it was Nick with brother Massimo calling the notes.
Surprisingly...it got a full paint job before Ice racing...and went to Targa basically as is with just 2 new fenders, and a little touch up paint!
and jeff...don't worry...that legacy won't be hounding your mirrors this year...something else will be, and it's just as loud, lighter, faster, and has already beaten the "rent-a-ride" ;)
btw...i'm pretty sure that Pines has make motorsport.com since atleast 2004.

Ah the time of year where every body is sitting at the edge of the computer chair reading the forums every sparing minute to see what hints they may read. Wondering what class is ______ going to race and what car is he going to be driving, or what new goodies does it have????

Ahhhh, I wouldn't worry too much 'bout what Chris says!
It is a well documented fact he is a CHEATER! and if he had a hand in the car prep it is another well documented fact it'll fail sooner, rather than later! :D

That's nothing....
We start out at like 29 or 30 psi....
Then gain a few lbs of pressure throughout the race...
We're easily low 30's on street studs....
pfft.

Steve - thanks for posting the link.... those photos there were taken by me and totally forgot about this forum. I have indeed provided photos to motorsport.com for the last three years as the Canadian rally doesn't get enough coverage there in my opinon.
All in all, I have really enjoyed the Rally of the Tall Pines again for the fourth year in a row. Taline organized yet another great VIP package and kudos to all of the teams, drivers and volunteers in making this yet another great event, especially with the beautiful weather this year.

So when a head gasket blows at 25 psi do spectators get injured??
Do we need a catch fence on the snowbanks now? :p
Better stick a big wing on the roof- sounds like you'll need it . :)

Well come on out to Minden for a weekend - 'cause Canadian ice racing gets even less coverage than rally. ;)

You and me both Jeff- Sounds like a good year to take the season off. It'll give us some time to develop that jet-engine-strapped-onto-the-roof thing that we talked about last season. I finally found an army surplus store thats got a couple, and Rona has these really heavy duty brackets that should hold 'er on up there.
Ever since i read that story about the guy who impacted into the side of the mountain in his Olds Delta 88- its got me thinkin....
Is there a rule about melting the other competitors cars off the start??:D

We made it to Sports Car Revolution last year... so that's not bad...
It definately gets more attention and coverage than Mexican Ice Racing.
