2018 Season
I am here to announce that our ice racing season will start on January 20/21st, 2018.

The schedule is almost finished and will be published on the website soon.

That is all.

Re: 2018 Season
So no snowmobilers gonna hi-jack our track this year?

I still can't believe that happened. I probably shouldn't say anything and keep my mouth shut but ...
Relegating an entire 6 weekend series, all it's participants/clubs/volunteers, to "second place" behind a one-off event (featuring snowmobiles???!!!) that resulted in damage to the track to an extent that it put our event at risk. And to do it without prior consultation with, nor having any apparent concern for, all the ice race community effected.
I still feel really hurt.

That was just (I think most would agree) ...... so ...... wrong.

PS - I don't care about nor do I want to hear any arguments/excuses/reasons/explanations/justifications why. I just hope lessons were learned.

Re: 2018 Season
I should not really say anything here, but this bs with the snowmobiles is bugging me.
1. We would not have had a race that weekend, it was too hot.
2. there was no damage to the ice, the sunday was cancelled to insure that
3. the extra money that was made help to not rise our rates

there was really no bad here, we all need to work together to keep the series going, if we still had 200+ race entries it would be different. pointing fingers helps nothing.

Re: 2018 Season
ok here we go ....'t happen again

I would like to say first that I don't consider what I said "BS", I consider it a legitimate concern and that it doesn't happen again - i personally don't want to have our track used by an outside organisation.

1) "We would not have had a race that weekend, it was too hot"
- but it was ok to run snowmobiles with massive traction bars chewing up the soft ice? That doesn't make sense.
2) "there was no damage to the ice, the sunday was cancelled to insure that"
Sunday was indeed cancelled thank God, but "no damage to the ice" - really!? They chewed up 3 inches or more ice turning it to useless slush that was then plowed away - I was there.
3)"the extra money that was made help to not rise our rates"
So revenue minus the costs which was how much? Not that you'll share but you can't use it as a reason unless you can justify it with a $ amount else how can we decide if it was worth it to us? Accountability to the ice racers and the organizers. I would hope they did better than break even but by how much $1, $500 ? So how much is enough?

Now I'm done with this - someone else can argue with you.
