Re: Yoko A052

It would be fine if tire companies played by the rules but in actual fact there aren't any rules. When SCCA changed their definition of "street" tire from 140 UTQG to 200, all of a sudden the same...

Re: Yoko A052

Just as a point of interest, Time-Attack has classified this tire as an R comp i.e not a street tire despite the 200 UTQG rating.

Re: Get more racers on track

Totally agree. You can learn how to handle a car at speed in Time-Attack (formerly SoloSprint) and you can learn how to deal with close racing and starts from Ice Racing with minimal consequences...

Re: Get more racers on track

This was total news to me. Most Chumpcars would end up in class 4 with a few making it to the slow end of Class 3. I would think running a class 1 or 2 car would not be the definition of cheap but...

Re: Get more racers on track

As others have pointed out, it appears that the CASC sanctioned road racing events are appealing to older folks.

Meanwhile last year's Chumpcar Canada series did well with up to 44 entries at...

Re: Rule Changes for 2019

At issue is the new Michelin Sport Cup 2R which is rated at 150. We suspect it performs very well. Also since SCCA increased their requirement to 200, there are few tires sitting at 140.

If you...

Re: Rule Changes for 2019

Nitto is a subsidiary of Toyo tires. In the past the NT01 was basically a different tread pattern variation of the RA-1 although now it may also have a different carcass. It is possible that now it...

Re: Competitors' meeting Nov 3, Topics for Discussion

You were happy with the concrete barriers in the runoff area at the end of the main straight or have they been moved?

We had felt it was only appropriate to run the track(s) clockwise.

Re: Competitors' meeting Nov 3, Topics for Discussion

Any idea of the average lap times on the various tracks at Grand Bend? I do remember running the Mod circuit and is was pretty short. At least at Shannonville we have no shortage of track and I...

Re: Competitors' meeting Nov 3, Topics for Discussion

I think the issue we have is that HP is rated on street gas but if cars can gain power by running race gas, how do we classify them? As Craig has mentioned, given that we don't look at the type of...

Re: Competitors' meeting Nov 3, Topics for Discussion

At this stage, we are not looking at Grand Bend. Historically, it has been our least attended venue despite the attractions of the town. Also there are a minimal number of configurations that we can...

Re: Hankook RS4 optimal temps/feedback

Need to know a few things. Type of car (drive configuration), weight, camber measurements and how hot did you do your cool down lap?

Off hand, I would think your front pressures are a bit high.

Re: WIL: OTA weekend at SMP

1) Rain and old NT01s worn down to "slick" status don't mix well

2) The bright side of spinning at turn 13 is that a) I got to show what to do when you have 2 wheels off the track i.e go...
