Re: Registration for 2018 OTA Events

If you've got enough experience you can easily be signed off in the morning lapping of the competition day. I'd email Stephen and Scott just to be 100% sure, they'll get you sorted out.

Re: WTB Lap timer

Do you have an external GPS antenna for your phone? Phones typically sample at 1hz, so your times could easily fluctuate by a second depending on when you cross the line vs where it is in the...

Re: Lexan Windows

My point was simply that only the windshield has the thickness requirement, reading above anything in the doors or the rear window doesn't have a thickness requirement at all.

Re: Protruding wheels and associated PIPs

IIRC, it's 0.5" past the fender or flare. If you have big flares the original fender line doesn't matter.

Re: Lexan Windows

Factory windshields are laminated and don't shatter like side/rear windows.

Re: Question about PIPs for suspension

Just a disclaimer... an LSD is only pip free if the car comes with an LSD stock and you're swapping in a different type/brand/whatever. If it's an open diff stock there's pips for adding an LSD.

Re: My first season with OTA

Depending on how much you drive the car daily, and your tolerance for noise, you can easily daily drive more aggressive pads as well. I daily drove project mu club racers before, and G-Loc R10's...

Re: My first season with OTA

CSG has a lot of data posted on tire testing... at stock power they found a 225/45 is faster than a 245/40 (same tire/compound), BUT that's on the specific track(s) they tested at. I would bet that...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes for 2018

Found the article I hinted at before:

https://www.pdf-archive.com/2017/10/30/modp-130900-tech/modp-130900-tech.pdf

It is 4 years old at this point, but unless someone has wildly different data...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes for 2018

Unless you're arguing that a 20+ year old civic needs a rollbar in all circumstances, it's not basically the same thing. A permanent hard top has some protection in a rollover, a convertible has...

Re: Toyo Tires Announcement and Sizing Poll

I think it's a mix of RE71R and RS4, but not positive. I wasn't at enough events to say for sure. I call pull what's in the CCDB to see what was declared to see the mix though if it's worth...

Re: Toyo Tires Announcement and Sizing Poll

Would this rule change actually favor the R888R's though? I haven't seen any data to suggest they're faster than RE71R's (most data I've seen show them being a bit slower).

Re: WIL: Shannonville OTA 2017

To be fair, both Paczynskis helped between other commitments as well as someone else who's name I didn't catch.

It also seems to be quicker than the Cayman R in the real world. :D

Re: Anyone have a few 3/32 Pop Rivets to spare ?

I might have some, I have a cheap Canadian Tire kit with 4 sizes. I'll try to remember to check the sizes. How many do you need?

Re: Requests for Base Car list updates here

IIRC the retractable hard tops still require roll bars, and from what I've read there are no bars being made for the RF yet because of clearance issues.
