So - surprisingly - a quick, small sample of Continental Series drivers check their baggage with their helmets :(

Hey Ryan - talk with your airline to confirm (a) their maximum allowable size for carry-on items (changes by aircraft and airline) and (b) if they are OK with you carrying a helmet as a carry-on.

That's a ton of great info. Thanks for posting that. I may re-approach my insurance company and get clarification on the "cancelling my insurance" comment the operator made when I spoke to them...
