Re: WIL: DDT Weekend

Gary shows wisdom with these comments. If things go south, especially at the GP track, they go south very fast. Drive in control and keep competing.

Braille battery & Hawk pads

- Braille lightweight battery, 18 pounds, used one season. Probably will need a trickle charge to get it going, been sitting on a shelf. $100.
- Hawk Blue brake pads, never used, never opened, low...

Re: School Question

The instructors are trained and experienced. Let them take the wheel of your car so you can see what it's like having your car on the track. If you're driving a Civic and the instructor has a GT350,...

Re: Brake Pads

I've used HP Plus and they're good but you need at least this level. Can be used street & track. I've also used HT 10. Very good for track in my opinion.

Re: Stainless Steel Brake hoses

I stood on the brakes very hard in a fairly heavy car (Mustang) so I used quality SS brake lines and even changed them periodically. Nice to always know the brakes are there when you need them most.

Re: Build Plans for 2018

Great to see all these build plans. When I was competing it was one of the most enjoyable parts of the sport. Planning and building and tracking your progress and improvement. (Second only to...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes for 2018

Perry, yes my injuries were as a result of the frontal impact. The speed the car hit the tire wall at was much higher than it appeared to be. I know, I was there!
I actually have no complaints...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes for 2018

With respect, one must be very careful with libertarian views when it comes to safety issues like these. It's a slippery slope. You may have foolish individuals wanting to compete with no seatbelts...

Re: Proposed Rule Changes for 2018

Agree with this. When I went wrong side up with no cage & OEM 3-point, the vehicle structure (A pillars & B pillars) held up well (2010 Mustang), but it was tight. There was some intrusion in the...

Re: WIL at the CTMP-GP OTA weekend

Ya I missed being there too. Broken CAI with no replacement parts available in time stopped me. Hope to make it to SMP.

WIL.
Take one Mustang.
Add three year old worn ZII's.
Put them on a wet cool track.
What do you get?
One WILD lap after another.
Thanks Gary. Fun day.

Re: Advance notice for sale items

Also have 400 lb. progressive rate coil springs available. Only used for a month or so on my '67 Mustang. Were a bit stiff for the car and the street so I switched them out.

Re: 2017 Time Attack Rules

Grant makes a good point though.
Some numbers, classes etc. have already been professionally made, wrapped or in some cases painted on.
While I agree fully that the cars need to look good for...

Re: 2017 Time Attack Rules

Questions:

1. Will this be at any cost to the competitor or are these items supplied by OTA?

2. Does this only apply to competitors? (as opposed to just lappers)

3. If one has previously had...

Re: Simpson Hybrid head restraint 3 point belt compatible

Exactly. Hence the need to be very careful with safety equipment. To be honest, anything short of full cage, hans, driving suit etc. is really just a band aid solution to safety. Might be better...
