What is the max piston speed for a road race engine...generally?

Without taking rod ratio into consideration.

I'm trying to select appropriate gearing for a honda b-series motor.

I'm not sure of the relevance piston speed has to gearing but if you go to www.housemanautosport.com/ he has gearing chart that works.

I'm sorry, but where does piston speed figure into your selection of gearing? Gearing is based on your power curve.

B series like to rev to 12,625 rpm usually

Not really an answer, but Honda B, F, K and H series engines are all on the list on the highest pistons speeds which means they can take a much higher piston speed than say a Cobalt engine Not like I'm picking on the 'merican's or anything like that...
