Re: NA Miata: Roll Bar and Harness Questions

A 4 point belt is allowed in a car without rollover protection, but you have to jump through hoops to get it approved (pun intended). There are a number of documents that have to be provided and even then the scrutineer has final say on whether he wants to approve it or not.

(See re: too many rules in this series).

edit: I should have replied to this in the other thread. Convertibles are not my thing so I am not as versed in their rules.

Re: NA Miata: Roll Bar and Harness Questions

I used a Schroth Quick Fit 4 point harness in 2010 without a roll bar for a bit and the scrutineer was fine with it. But it was designed to be used with the OEM anchors points in the car. I stopped using it though as with a helmet my head was awfully close to the top of roof

Thanks! Thats what i thought, as the rules only say that 4 point cannot be used with a roll cage - but it stops there. What docs need to be provided? Are they listed somewhere in the rules doc? Cheers, Bill
