Re: hmm..

Wow, a rollover at DDT! Not completely un-heard of, but pretty rare/unusual. Especially given that he was still technically on the pavement! (ie: not off in the grass somewhere with the wheels turned, digging into the soft ground). Just way too much curb there, and it looks like it pretty much acted like a ramp!!

..... hmm, seeing the way that happened, I wonder if the same thing could happen (or has??) on the big curb, inside of T3 at MIR? It's a tall curb, and some (though not many) people get all over it.

Re: hmm..

I was on track at the time and this happened after I left the front straight, but I wasn't in the red car's video. So that means that the MMS marshals had the red flag out in less than five seconds before I hit the west kink. You'll notice that the crowd didn't go over the wall. No one got out of their cars. One of the organizers was the first to approach the rolled vehicle after hot cars came to a stop.

They do a lot of little smart things that OTA doesn't. A program is handed to everyone for the day. (The experienced guys know how our days run, but the newbies don't.) The passing rules are posted in BIG PRINT poster style near the grid at scrutineering in case anyone didn't hear right at the driver's meeting. Spectator area was enforced throughout the day by multiple organizing team doing gridding...

Manners were great in the advanced group, BTW.

For all the eye rolling that CASC gets for its "holier than thou" approach to track events, it is interesting how that organization you were running with has recently adopted some familiar procedures like:

- Helmets
- Track rules
- Marshals
- Gridding by the organizer

Which is presumably all good news for the CASC member.

It's okay, OTA is pretty open. I'm part of the shaved head, beer drinking crowd myself.
