Mo Larsen Injured

For those who know Moe Larsen - a long time formula car wizard mechanic, father of an open wheel driver, Brian Stewart team member, around as long as I can remember - he had a very serious accident this past weekend in the paddock at Tremblant. He is sort of OK and recovering but now has plates in his ankles from a freak accident that was bad but could have been very much worse.

Re: Mo Larsen Injured

We went to visit Mo, and his daughter Teena, today. It was a pleasant surprise to see him in such good spirits. He has a fairly long rehab road ahead of him, but knowing Mo, he'll make short work of it.

Best wishes for a top guy.

Re: Mo Larsen Injured

Stephen, thanx for that update. Glad to hear that he is doing as well as he is.

He is such a great and generous gentleman and, without any question, a true Canadian racing icon.

When you see him again, please extend my sincerest best wishes for his speedy recovery. Also let him know that there has been a huge number of folks who have contacted me wanting him to know that they are also wishing him the same.

Mo Larsen Update

I was in contact with Teena today. She told me that they were at the hospital for 4 hours today.

But here's the good news. The doctors removed both casts, he had one on each of his lower legs, and they didn't recast! The Doctor told him it was okay to put all his weight on the right foot and little weight on his left, which has a plate on the lower outside bone. They said he was healing like a 16 year old! Gave Mo some exercises for his joints and said come back in a month.

He'll be back at the track doin' the 'knee drop' in no time.

Great news!

Re: Mo Larsen Injured

In contact with Mo's daughter Teena yesterday. She was very happy to report that her dad has been given the green light by the doctor to start walking unaided right away. He will require no physio.

It was fantastic news to hear. Obviously his 'nurse' did an amazing job!

I'm sure he'll be at the track very soon. Look for the knee drop.

Re: Mo Larsen Injured

Most of us have known Mo a long time. Major injuries, (7) weeks, yeah that's about right. Typical Mo. Hammer down.

Cheers Satch. KR.
