Post Event 3 - Results posted - Wosca - Centralia, ON

The 3rd event of the 2014 Mobil1 Championship Series presented by Toyo Tires took place this past Sunday at the James T. Field Memorial Aerodrome in Centralia. Eighty competitors took in 5 runs each on a fast and mostly flowing course using a full runway along with a wide taxiway. Everyone was lucky that all of the timed runs were in dry conditions, as no more then 10 minutes after the last car finished thunderstorms swept in and the rain came down.

The course proved challenging with a penalty of some sort called on over 38% of the runs attempted. 65 of the penalties were DNF's and 85 runs had cones down with a total of 133 cones hit.

It was a battle of the Mike's at the top of the raw time list, with Mike A prevailing in his 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS, over Mike W in his Solodwarf by eight-tenths of a second. Over on the indexed list, we again see Mike A at the top, over Pawel M and Daniel F who were both just over 1.6s and 1.7s behind.

Check out the results here:

Let me know if you see any issues with the results via email or pm. The overall standings are still on my to-do list, and thanks to the axware issues we had with the 2014 update - yay encryption of the raw data!?!, it's going to take a some more time (week+) before I get a chance to look at it and reconcile the data into the 2013 version of the software (which we are staying with for the foreseeable future).

How did everyone like the port :82 version of the live results (I know the family scoring wasn't working on it, but was the instant update of the raw/ftd useful) Did you try it and like it, or do you prefer the standard html run list we have been using, along with the manual update of the pax/ftd lists?

thanks Cliff, awesome turnaround time!

I've finally made it on to the totem pole

from being 3.3 seconds behind Val to only 0.3 I think I'm getting the hang of this. Let's see if I can improve some more at Kawartha.

well, the timing tent was within arm's reach of most competitors at Centralia.

PICTON you were pretty much screwed in terms of wifi distance.

Well this is true. At picton I had to completely forget/delete the WiFi server twice and then reconnect to get updates. No idea if this different set up effects this though. I know others had to do this also to get it working.

Yeah, the 2014/current version of axware was/is a bit of a mess, supposedly stuff has been fixed and they issued a patch, but I really don't feel don't feel like beta testing and finding new unpublished showstopping bugs (I've found enough of them over the couple years we've been running axware).

We went back to the 2013 version for Centralia and things were pretty calm in what was left of the timing tent, which was nice.

Ye, I hate beta testing when you just need things to work! Can be really fustrating I bet. Hope all the bugs are worked out seems like you didn't have any problems this last event. Your fast times showed this!

Thanks again to all for there hard work!
