Re: New Members Website Feedback

Removed from notices and left here for reference

The members site at https://members.casc.on.ca went live January 3 with most of the members functionality in place.

Many of you will be able to set your password, log in, renew a club membership, and apply for a licence. The requirements to do so are;
  • Your club must permit members to join online
  • You or your club admin must have entered a valid email on your member record
Club admin functionality was available to all clubs on January 8th. If you don't join your club online but instead join your club directly, club admins will be able to add your membership at that time. Once your club admin has added/renewed your membership with a valid email address, you will be able to apply for and purchase your licence online.

There isn't a manual on how to use the site, it's pretty simple, but what we have done is created a few short videos on some typical scenarios;

Renewing Club Memberships And Licences For Existing Members

Renewing Family Memberships

Join Club And Apply For Licence As A New Member

Join As Family Head / Join As Family Member

Resetting Your Password

And one more, only needed if you are going to apply for a licence

Updating Your Licence Information

Licences will NOW be processed and sent out starting the week of January 16th. If someone has a reason for needing a licence before that time to run outside Ontario, contact the CASC office and special arrangements will be made to accommodate you.

Re: New Members Website Feedback

Oh, and you can now
  • download a fillable annual waiver
  • fill in the fields, print and sign it
  • scan it to a PDF
  • upload the PDF to your member profile
No more separate emailing / faxing / delivering by hand!

Just log onto the site and go to member licence information (and while you're there, upload your new licence photo).

Licences not mailed but are coming very shortly (that's on me, not on Deb) - when there's a definitive date for sending we'll let everyone know.

If time is tight to get them in people's hands before the first ice race weekend, there will be alternative arrangements made to make sure everyone gets what they need to go racing.

This is as good a place as any to point out that online applicants do need to upload an updated licence photo if you haven't since the new site went live on Jan 3, and that you can now download the annual waiver, fill it in, sign it, and scan it to PDF, and upload it back to your member profile - no more mailing (and sorry for you organized folks who already mailed yours but they will get handled as well).

Thanks,

Scott (the other one).

I just realized this might look like we're not printing them. Licences are being printed starting tomorrow for the folks where we have everything, but we may deliver them some other way than mail.

Re: New Members Website Feedback

My licence is listed as "Pending". I have paid and updated my information etc. and understand that it will take some time but it would be nice to receive some notification if it is approved (and if not, what I forgot to do)

Actually, Dave, you will receive an email when the licence is issued.

If you've paid, uploaded your photo and an annual waiver for a "C" licence, you are good to go.

Re: New Members Website Feedback

I clicked on "Join Club And Apply For Licence As A New Member" and watched the video.

I tried this in practice as follows:

Clicked on this link from CASC main page:

Name: click1.JPG
Views: 85
Size: 9.8 KB

That took me to this page, which has no "Join" Button as per the video

Name: click2.JPG
Views: 80
Size: 15.2 KB

So I clicked on "NEW" and got this...

Name: click3.JPG
Views: 83
Size: 19.2 KB

Thanks.

1) You're right, we replaced "JOIN" with "NEW" because we had a lot of existing members creating new accounts instead of logging into their old ones.

2) Looking into why "NEW" isn't working correctly.

I found a small issue and I think you should find it works now but I admittedly haven't had time to test fully.

Please try it and if there are further problems let us know.

Thanks for reporting this.

Except ... you are already an MCO member per your profile, so unless you are trying to join ANOTHER club you don't want to use the NEW choice.

MCO do not permit members to join through the CASC-OR website, so that won't work.

And you have had two member profiles created already, one for MCO and one for St. LAC (there is only supposed to be one).

Write me directly and tell me what you're trying to do and I'll help you out, but it may take a few days.

Re: New Members Website Feedback

Thanks Scott. The "New" link loaded a page, but I went no further given that I'm already in the system.

I was trying to get some insight into how joining through this portal would work for a new member, not trying to actually join or new.

If you go to this post, you will be able to watch videos of the whole process - these are same videos that were linked in the email you received in January - might be more informative.

It is true that the videos differ slightly from some of the screens due to changes in some screens since January but they are correct in principle.
