volvo 780 coupe classification
I have never raced before, and am considering entry this season.
I drive a 1987 volvo 780. Its a 2.8L V6 NA 145hp. It has a solid rear axle, and comes from the factory a fibre under 4,000 lbs. Its the same size as the sedans but has only 2 doors. Automatic. I think this would put me into B3 sports coupe correct? My issue is that I am working on a new motor for the car: 3L I6 Turbo. Mfg'd by Volvo in NA form (which I will turbocharge), fitted to a manual transmission. 6.1 F (d) states that a turbo motor cannot be swapped into a NA car. Is there any way to do this with out running in the modified category? I do not feel that I could be competetitive here. Is there an easy answer? Or would I be better off to find another car to race with and keep my 3L turbo on the street? Thanks a bunch, Ryan |
