Smile Friday Evening Slalom at Shannonville

Shannonville Motorsport Park (SMP) holds evening slaloms and lapping sessions throughout the summer and it so happens that a slalom is scheduled for the Friday evening (20th) before the Nationals at Picton Air Field (PAF).

Therefore as a National Competitor you have the opportunity to practice some more high speed autocross (on the Fabi Circuit) before the Sat & Sun runs at PAF. So, if you are interested, pls come and join in with our regular group,

Information is as follows:
-Registration begins at 4:30PM
-Drivers Meeting at 5:30
-Drive Through at 5:45 and first cars on course shortly thereafter
-Runs until Dusk
-Entry Fee $55 payable at time of registration

Any planned discounts for the Nats competitors?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any kind of discount as the fee is set by the track.

Re: Friday Evening Warm-Up Slalom for Nationals

Not a bit disingenuous billing this as a warm up for the Nationals when the two events are not linked in any way? Is St Lac personnel organizing the SMP event?

At best rather confusing considering there is test n tune at Picton Friday.

Re: Friday Evening Warm-Up Slalom for Nationals

Just to clarify. Eric is not the current president of St. Lac and this event is not associated with the National AutoSlalom Championship in any way. The Driver Dynamics group, that is running this event, is also not associated with either St. Lac or OMSC. This isn't to say that National competitors can't participate if they so choose.
Test and tune time will be occurring, at Picton, on Friday afternoon and is included in your entry fee.

Thanks
Andy Patterson
OMSC President

Shouldn't this be in the non-CASC section then?

That is correct. While the post appears to be innocuous, the title is misleading. Shame on the original poster.

"Shame on the original poster"?

You know who the poster is....

Anyway. This was thought to be an innocent invite for anyone wanting to run another event.

Much like a few years ago when a SMP lapping day was organized by a different club the day after the picton regional weekend and was listed as a "Tripple header"

More opportunities for autoslalom fun

If the admins feel this SMP run event isnt appropriate for this casc forum, please remove.

Also, I'll make sure he changes his signature block on here. He probably doesnt realize it's still there.

Since it's not a CASC sanctioned event, I've moved it to our extra events forum. Feel free to post future events here as I do think they are of interest to the community.
