Are there any old crocks on this forum who actually witnessed racing at Mosport in the sixties and seventies? (the glory days).

I have a racer friend from those days who has entered a car for the WC races - it will be his 50th year of racing. I can't make it back there, but can arrange for a few guest passes.

No, not Baldwin, but Peter Schwartzott, who started with a TR 2 at Mosport in 62, but later raced in the Bulova 2.5 sedan series with a fast Datsun 510. He was from Niagara Falls NY in those days. Peter was later a top driver in the Rabbit Bilstein series, the Firehawk and World Challenge etc. He will be racing a 2012 Honda Civic in ihe IT class at Mosport, a car that he and his son Peter jr. built from scratch.

I got to know him at Harewood when he dive-bombed inside of my camaro in the first turn at a CTC race in 69.

Peter also built and raced a 69 camaro in the 70 T/A series - 4 races with a best of 6th at Bridgehampton. Also raced big block modifieds at Lancaster Speedway for a time in the mid-sevnties.

I remember Peter running a 510 in the Bulova series. Always near the pointy end of the field, running with Lambke, Gudzus, Von Englebrechten.

Robert, I raced with Peter in the Bulova Series. I was also in a 510. I've seen Peter many times since but not recently. I'm probably going to be at CTMP for other reasons so I may NOT need your offer of tickets, but if I do I'll let you know here. I try to remember to look up Peter.
