Anyone interested in ChumpCar?

Anyone interested in joining a Chump car team? Feel free to message me if you guys are interested or have any questions about pricing or format.

Team Junction/KSRD is seeking drivers to join our team. We're in the process of building additional cars (predominantly Honda) and need to fill the seats. Goal is to attend all the local events... sorry.. AMP and Edmonton is a far stretch.. unless we get enough interest. US events are within our scope as well.

We've had positive feedback from previous members.

As well we attend other series events CSCS, GT sprints and the newly formed CS3/ORRA... Feel free to email me directly ken@junctionautosport.com if you have any questions with fielding a car or joining us for a race or two. Cheers.

Nice that you have many cars but my question remains are you saying that chump cars are going to be on the GT sprints grid?

Re: Anyone interested in ChumpCar?

No.. the chumpcar isn't for GT sprints. That's a separate car. My point being is we intend on competing in various events beyond chumpcar.

Re: Anyone interested in ChumpCar?

I'll vouch for these guys. I was at bogie with Ken the weekend the above pic was taken. I'll say the guys did a very good job with the hospitality, made me feel like a part of the team, took criticism very constructively and are really trying hard to make their team members happy. They are a hard working bunch who are strive for continuous improvement.

Also they had a very well setup car as far as handling was concerned. It felt very well balanced and when driving at or above the traction limit I felt that I could four wheel slide it around the corners. (basically I felt very comfortable in it considering it was my first time in the car)
Unfortunately mother nature didn't cooperate for us on the sunday and we had a torrential downpour which kind of put a damper on our day.

Like a Serie C soccer team picking injured players out of Serie B, though, isn't it?

"One such legend of vtec was this B18-powered EF Honda Michelin clone, which to the doubtless relief of its gearbox 'retired' from RaceOntario Sprints to the Mosport 3hrs and then the Nelson Ledges 24, where it finished 2nd overall to what many consider to be the first wave of overpriced 'cheater' BMWs..."

(In other words, this car was more sedimentary than stratospheric but made okay mud.)

Kidding aside, I've known more than a couple of drivers who (for reasons both stated and omitted) dislike the prospect of sharing tracktime with cars having 1/16th the value of their own. I wonder whether it's as much of a turnoff for those guys as 'a high cost of entry' is at the lower end. When conditions warrant, some of the more objective supporting arguments support splitting grids, though that process can be fraught in cases where FIA typologies are ignored.

By the way I can't recall whether Liz or Vic took the above picture. I gratefully owe credit here.

Re: Anyone interested in ChumpCar?

If a chump car meets CASC safety then why is it a bad thing to have them on the GT Sprints grid? More cars, more racing.

Re: Anyone interested in ChumpCar?

All cars guaranteed to having working fuel gauges for 2016!

Seriously, Junction/KSRD are a great team who take the spirit of racing to heart. Read about their woes and triumphs at the CTMP Chump race in October and you'll never need to question how dedicated these guys are.

Ha that's funny because our fuel gauge doesn't work properly. It's okay we know we are good for 1 hour 45 min :P

Doug,
No one ever said it was a bad thing. Its just that nasty rumour trying to stir sh*t up.

If a car can pas tech, then come race. The more the merrier.
