Calabogie

There was a post about a non-championship race at Calabogie in August. I can’t find it anymore, is it still on? For a change I'm considering going to it.

Re: Calabogie

It got moved to here http://www.casc.on.ca/forums/showthread.php?t=24479 for some reason. There doesn't seem to be much interest. (rest of response self edited)

Re: Calabogie

That's too bad. We are considering that race for our GT3 car.

Ian
There seem to be some interest in this event I have had a couple of inquires. With the post moved it has been hard to keep Competitors in the loop. I would think Drivers would jump at a second chance this season to race at this amazing track. For myself it will be a test in preparation for MCO’s Ted Powell event on Labor Day weekend.

Re: Calabogie

I agree Richard, it's out of the loop down there. There needs to be 20-25 cars to make it viable and right now it's not close. It's a great chance to run on the track and just have fun.

Re: Calabogie

Unfortunately, this event will not be running. It's disappointing, that the chance to run in an event devoid of politics, and completely for fun has been lost.

The car likely won't be ready till August. I only have some much time and money to allocate.

Re: Calabogie

BMW CCA Club Race is considering to allow non- BMW cars to participate in their races at Calabogie. I know they would be open to let other cars in as long as the driver holds a valid race license (CASC, SCCA) and is not suspended in any other series and the car meets their rules and regulations.

Would there be any interest??

If there is considerable interset I would get more details from the guys at BMW CCA CR
The BMW event is on July 20 - 22 and the race(s) are part of the HPDS

Wow, well this is certainly an interresting development ... I'm not sure about the non BMW (it is the BMW club after all), but relaxing the rules to allow other club licenses, and teched cars (ie, not window net expiry BS and HANS expiry BS) would be a great step in the right direction for attracting racers!

I'd be interested in running my CRX.
