Aug 5 Shannonville Full Track Lapping

Please sign up here. Even though the event is full at this moment, we will remove people who haven't paid by July 31st and open up the spot(s) on Aug. 1st.

Thank you!

Date: Monday, Aug 5th, 2002
Time: 9am-5pm (Full day lapping)
Driver's meeting: 8:30 am
Track: Shannonville, Full-Track.
Cost: $140
Drivers: 20 max.

DETAILS:
As explained in the thread here, we will be forming our own lapping group for Image Racing's lapping on Aug 5th.

They will have 3 run groups. A (advanced), B (beginners) and C (Teutonic). A and B are image racing people and Teuotnic guys can go on there if you wish.

C group is for Teutonic ONLY and no one else. 30 minutes per run group so we will get 30 minutes every 1.5 hours. they don't take lunch.

We get 5 - 6 half hour sessions minimum. In addition, C group (Teutonic) can run with A and B groups if you wish. This means you basically have the whole day (8 hours) of track.

We (Teutonic Group C ) will be running independently on track with strict BMWCC school passing/safety rules & etiquette and designated passing zones. Helmet is mandatory. Everyone is welcome although previous driving school and solo lapping experience is recommended*.

Please feel free to ask any question regarding the lapping day by replying to this thread or contact kevin@teutonic.ca or frank@teutonic.ca.

* Please email us if you are new to our lapping day and are unsure of your qualification. We welcome everyone but some simple qualification will be required to ensure everyone's safety.

LAPPING DAY RULES:

RULE 1 – Passing Zone:
• Passing is allowed on the passing zones ONLY (red sections on the map below). No exceptions.
• All passing must be completed before the turn-in point.
• All passing must be made on the right side of the vehicle you intend to overtake.
• All passing is executed only after given proper signal (see below) from the vehicle in front.
• All passing should be quick and prompt. One car at a time.
• Pit-in hand signal is not a passing signal.

RULE 2 – Slower Car:
• Stay on the line that you are driving.
• Turn with your right turn signal on to initiate the pass.
• Slow down/ease off/maintain throttle to help the car behind to pass safely.
• Give 3 or 4 signal flashes to each car you want to let by.
• Relax and drive at you own pace. Respect faster cars, give signal and allow passing.

RULE 3 – Faster Car:
• Let the slow car complete the turn (prior to passing zone) safely.
• NO SIGNAL, NO PASSING!
• Stay directly behind the slower car. Do no drive in its blind spot.
• Patiently wait for your signal to execute the pass.
• Pass with care.
• Respect slower cars/drivers. Be patient and keep a safe distance.

RULE 4 – Pit-in:
• Drive on the left side of the track after exiting the corner prior to the front straight.
• Raise your left hand (to outside of the vehicle) to indicate your intention to drivers behind you.
• DO NOT use emergency signal to pit-in as it may be confused with passing signal.
• Drive slowly in the pit area.

RULE 5 – Go home rule:
• If you break any of the rules above, you will be black-flagged to come in for a talk.
• If you break the rule again, you will be black-flagged to come in and explain why we shouldn’t send you home early.
• If you put four wheels off (2 two wheel off or 1 four wheel off) the track you will be black-flagged to come in for a talk.
• If you put any more wheels off, you will be black-flagged to come in and explain why we shouldn’t send you home early.

PAYMENT:
Please contact our treasurer, Albert, at albert@teutonic.ca and Albert will give you the payment instructions. Please make sure Albert gets your payment before Wednesday, July 31, to secure your spot.

good idea to have your own run group, since Image Racing events are the most dangerous I've ever attended BY FAR. Looks like you've got a well constructed set of rules, so I'm sure your group will be safe. Wish I could be there, but I'll likely be away on vacation over the weekend. Have a great event! The Full track is a lot of fun.
