Is the SCCA a affiliated Club for the regional?

WE might be attending a couple of the regional events if our SCCA membership is OK to run.

Re: Is the SCCA a affiliated Club for the regional?

You can run the events without an affiliated club membership, you just won't score points towards the year end. I'm not sure if an scca membership counts. I know it doesn't work the other way around as I have to join scca every year to run nationals.

I'm pretty sure you can join a casc club for as little as $20, so I wouldn't let that stop me personally.

$35 buys you a snazzy wosca membership.

Re: Is the SCCA a affiliated Club for the regional?

Hrmm... from our GCR's:

3.4.1 LICENSING AND MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS
Every person who competes in a Competition must be in possession of a current, valid Competition licence of the type and grade required for that Competition.

I guess that Class D Autoslalom license idea never flew because there's no Class D license app at dev.casc.on.ca or http://www.casc.on.ca/autoslalom_forms

From the officially CASC-OR linked ruleset at http://www.casc.on.ca/autoslalom_rules

1.3.2 Other Operating Requirements
A. All persons in an event car must have an SCCA® membership, either
full or weekend.

The SERIES registration form asks for a CASC-OR club... but you don't want to register for the series, just do an event or two. http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/...slalom_reg.pdf

So, after checking all of the available resources, it appears that you're good to go.

Oh wait... the class C license link mentions a Class D license.

http://www.casc.on.ca/sites/default/...ion_2013_0.pdf

But it says "CLUB NAME" not CASC-OR Club Name. So maybe SCCA is okay?

So, in summary, I have no idea. I think it's up to the whim of the Director.

Re: Is the SCCA a affiliated Club for the regional?

SCCA licences are accepted as a Club Licences.

You can register for the provincials if you wish, or just run the events as club events.

I am sure all clubs will accept your licence as a CASC-OR affiliated club.

So, please come to whatever events you can make.

Re: Is the SCCA a affiliated Club for the regional?

It is currently up to the clubs whether to restrict entry to "members only". WOSCA doesn't yet plan to do this for the regional, but in the past we've always treated any SCCA member the same as a CASC affiliated members anyway. Nobody expects you to join a CASC club to just come over here and try an event or two. Past nationals have had the same policy too. I'm not sure if current nationals have that philosophy?

He asked about membership, not a license.

From the SCCA Autoslalom rules that we use:

Quote:
I.1.4: Competition licenses are not required and hazards to spectators, participants, and property do not exceed those encountered in normal, legal highway driving.
So, it appears that no one has to buy a $35 Class D license just to compete at regionals because our GCR's and Rules do not require it.
